Today my wife and I celebrate 36 years of marriage and it is an incredible milestone. This is our family that mama Murillo and I have been blessed with. We are not perfect by any means, all though we paint beautiful pictures on social media.

Trust me when I say, it's not always been chocolates and roses. I haven't been easy to love at times, or nor have I been well liked by her. My wife is as strong as they come. I could post hundreds of pictures that paint the perfect couple.

This photo just recently taken this past week speaks volumes as what the past 34 of our 36 years of life has been revolved around. What you don't see is how God has intervened in our lives to bring us to this special day.

We are flawed but forgiven by God's grace. Living within God’s favor is not about our sinless perfection. None of us will reach that lofty plane in this life. I wish we could, this would be my answered prayer.

It's refreshing to acknowledge that even close-knit families have their flaws and imperfections. Social media can create an unrealistic expectation of perfect, blissful family life, when the reality is often messier but no less meaningful.

Embracing our family's humanity and relying on God's grace is a humble and authentic perspective. I've been so blessed by Christ to have the family Mama and I have been gifted, even if we aren't perfect....

In God we are created in a perfect image it's up to each of us to strive everyday towards renewal of that image. To seek clarity in him for our part in this sometimes crazy family dynamic.

Authentic connection and love is what truly matters. We've been made perfect and whole only by the blood of Jesus.

I wake up every morning nonapologetic for being less interested in being picture perfect for social and political acceptance rather more perfect in Christ's creation.
