Further luxurious details include brass fittings imported from Corston for the light switches and outlets, and the bathrooms are outfitted with imported fixtures and fittings from Lefroy Brooks, Czech & Speake, and the Cast Iron Bath Company. All the beds, pillows, and bedding on the property have been carefully selected and imported.

Outside dinners can be enjoyed al fresco on one of the numerous dining terraces, or under a pathway lined by olive trees, and lunches can be enjoyed in the newly built pool pavilion equipped with a full bar including an ice machine. There are further ice machines around all the main entertaining spaces on the property The owners have worked with a landscape gardener to further embellish the gardens.

The villa staff prepare all meals and guests have nothing but praise for the team of eleven staff and villa manager who work tirelessly to make sure your stay is as memorable and relaxing as possible. For anyone considering a holiday in Crete but put off by the thought of flying through the chaos that is Heraklion airport, I can definitely recommend going through Chania instead. From stepping out of the taxi to sitting at the departure gate took less than 10 minutes.

Plenty of food and drink options, duty-free, and clean toilets. No lounge, but that’s not the end of the world.

And, of course, the Chania area of Crete is nothing short of stunning too.

Off to Milton Keynes now…let’s see if the cocktails are as good!
