Short recon trip mid-bay after months of fishing south Tampa Bay. Water clarity not great, but the reds didn’t seem to mind. Good things ahead in September.

Honored to provide a boat yesterday for the 1Voice Foundation’s tournament on Tampa Bay. Dodged some storms, caught a few fish and raised money for the Foundation.

Finally got my dad out after a near 2-year break in our routine fishing trips. Hope to do it more often. We boated 65 snook over the course of Saturday and Sunday’s trips. The snook population in the bay is phenomenal and I couldn’t be happier to see such a healthy stock. The heat creeping in and getting chased off the water by afternoon storms reminds us that summer is near. Tight lines.

Nice Veterans trip yesterday. Got the inshore slam despite the boat parade and guys fishing on top of one another. Just a little bit of etiquette would go a long way out there, but I’m not optimistic.

Looking back at some trips, it’s been a pretty solid December - March with a nice warm spell in December and now great early spring conditions. I can’t say every trip is like all of these, but many are and I’m happy to have been part of the memories made. Tight lines.

It wasn’t the fastest or steadiest bite, but we managed to find a couple of first-time snook for some great folks. We saw a couple of manatees to close it out. Great, relaxing day on the water. Tight lines and stay safe.

We had to work for it today, but sticking out a rather sluggish bite paid off with this 34” beauty and a few others. Sight fishing at its best.

Wrapping up another week of fall-ish fishing. Bite has been finicky at times, but, if you stick with it, things generally work out. Water temp will take a hit early next week, but should rebound quickly. Redfish bite has been the best I’ve seen in many years, despite the red tide over the summer. So happy that these fish survived. Tight lines.

Here we go. Monday through Thursday you have clear skies and gentle breezes. The weekend rolls around and you have storms followed by 15 to 20 knots of wind and rough conditions. Funny how those cold fronts time out that way. Stay safe and tight lines.

This photo popped up as a memory from this time in 2017. This is my personal best snook caught on a miserably windy and drizzly morning. Got her on a 3” Gulp Shrimp on a 1/8th oz jig head. Truly a beast of a fish. These are the memories that keep us coming back for more. Tight lines.
