Here’s a better action pic of the WRBF SMP 500R, Powered by Kawasaki, Speciale.

First reports are that everyone is very pleased with how the bike performed. There were some tiny jetting changes to be made, but it’s running strong. There’s also some small gearing and chassis balance changes to be ironed out, but in reality for the first time in action it was a best case outcome.

Everyone who rode it agreed, very well sorted bike that needs to be softened up a bit and geared better for the track.

SMP500 build update:

The guys have decided to do away with the heavy, OEM steel gas tank, and outfit the 500 with something a little more befitting the World Renowned Baddeck Facility.

Paulie’s designed and built an aluminium fuel cell. It looks like it holds between 10-15 litres, but more interestingly, he’s implemented his own baffles inside the cell to reduce the effect of sloshing fuel.. Does it work!? We aren’t sure yet!

Meanwhile, Mark’s constructed a fibreglass cover based off of a ZZR250 tank, and it is the cherry on top! 🍰

Paulie’s at it again!!

Full exhaust system for a Honda XR500 that has been converted into a track racing bike. This full system was built with love by WRBF.

The customer also requested a pair of WRBF rear sets for the same bike, and Paulie documented a few stages of the process:

The pattern, partly finished, and almost finished and affixed with our WRBF footpegs.

Keegan and I put these through the grinder in our 2019 national season; the 1/2 in. aluminium bracket is sturdy and the pegs maximize boot-to-peg grip for wet, bumpy conditions and hard maneuvering.

Hel Performance is our go-to for all of our custom brake lines. They can make you exactly what you need, with whatever fittings, length, colour you like, and it's all made in-house! They also make their own brake calipers and master cylinders, that we can't wait to get our hands on and abuse!! 😈

HEL Performance Canada | Bleed Pathway
We are receiving great feedback on our calipers in terms of performance and in the bleeding process.
Many people are telling us they are the easiest calipers they have ever bled which is due to the internal fluid path we have in each caliper.
Some calipers only have a fluid path down both sides of the caliper ( but it doesn't link across the back. All HEL Performance calipers feature a full fluid path around the whole caliper. this means that any air can be pumped around the system to allow it to escape through the bleed ni**le. In a caliper which doesn't have this you continue pumping the air bubble down into a dead end - it has to come up against the pressure you are creating when trying to bleed so its more time consuming.
The image below (first image) shows the HEL fluid path in red and the fluid path created when you don't join the circuit at the base of the caliper (second image)
You can see how you will pump the air into the dead end on the second caliper where as with HEL the air will find the route of least resistance and rise to the bleed ni**le quicker.
Its another example of what we do inside our products which are much more important than what happens on the outside. Okay, they have to look good but its the inside which is doing all of the work after all..

With all the uncertainty in our world right now, nobody knows what we will be doing in 2020 as far as racing goes. We are ever hopeful that we will take our bikes out to play with you all at some point. We aren’t giving up hope, and that means making preparations. There will be several announcements over the coming weeks as to what our team is going to look like in 2020. We are actively seeking sponsors and finalizing our rider lineup.

With a bit more time on our hands, we are keeping busy at the Facility and plan to fill orders and build a small inventory of replacement parts. If you need fairing stays, rearsets, subframes or want a custom part fabricated, send us a dm!

Some Monday Motorcycle Madness with the team! Both of these incredible riders had amazing race seasons full of ups and downs but after an amazing finish fell short of 1st in the standings by a mere 20pts after dominating the competition for the majority of the season.

finished in 4th in the standings with a stellar last half of the season and we are excited to see where he can go from here. Happy Birthday Keegan from all of us here at HEL Performance Canada 🎉🇨🇦
