A timely reminder by Shaykh Adeyinka Mendes during our recent trip to Senegal where he speaks about the importance of combining economic independence with spirituality, and how the thriving community of Touba serves as an admirable example of this.

One of our groups recently returned from Iran. Among the many highlights of their trip were the impressive Golestan Palace in Tehran, spending a night in the desert, marvelling at the exquisite architecture of Isfahan and visiting the timeless ruins of Persepolis. However, what touched them most was the incredible hospitality of the Iranian people and their unwavering support for the people of Palestine ❤️

Images from a week ago when our group was visiting Palestine. Although they were held at the border for many hours unable to leave the country and anxious about the dangerous situation that was unfolding, they are determined to visit again in the future. There may be challenges and discomfort during travel but these pale into insignificance when we consider the suffering in Gaza right now and across Palestine over the past 75 years. The oppressors always want the people they subjugate to feel disempowered, hopeless and isolated. That’s why it’s so important for us to continue visiting Palestine and other places where people face state-sponsored violence and humiliation on a daily basis. By meeting them and trying to understand their reality they can at least feel connected to the wider Ummah and are not forgotten once the media spotlight disappears.
As our adventure through Kyrgyzstan comes to an end these are just a few images which attempt to capture the beauty of this incredible mountainous country. Indeed pictures cannot do justice to the raw and unfiltered experience of travelling here.
