The Crewel Work Company The home of British Crewel Work and the very best British historic textile experiences including Lady Anne's Needlework Retreats.

The Crewel Work Company have over 20 years experience researching and developing crewel and textile experiences. Our crewel work kits and range of crewel-inspired gifts reveal all we love about the technique and the style - the bold, robust colours of the Jacobean period, the twirling flower motifs of the Elizabethan period, the broad range of stitches designed to keep the embroiderer intrigued an

d the beautifully fresh linen that is so pleasing to the eye and to the touch. Apart from our kit and gift range, over the years our passion for and patronage of crewel and historic textiles have provided access to the most private of historic embroidery collections in the castles and country houses of England and Scotland, which we are often able to share with our customers through our 'Lady Anne's' textile retreats. These retreats are limited in number and capacity, with just two taking place each year, but are an absolute must for those with a deep passion for colour, texture, technique, and above all a desire to share their passion with like-minded people. Our retreats take place are over a 10 day or 2 week period and change in format each year but always consist of a tour of hard to access collections in private castles and country homes, with workshops and lectures on each subject as we progress. We also offer shorter retreats of 3 days, often in situ in a castle or in a beautiful lakeside hotel in the English Lake District. We are also able to tailor an experience for large groups of 20-30 people.
