Jon's NW Outdoors Jon's NW Outdoors facilitates Bass fishing experiences as well as upland bird hunting excursions.

Jon’s Northwest Outdoors is owned and operated by Tournament BASS Pro, Jon Blank. Jon is an avid outdoorsman and tournament angler.

e my primary fishing focus has been BASS fishing in the Northwest. My outdoor passion is diverse, ranging from all aspects of the outdoors such as fishing, archery elk and deer hunting to upland bird hunting in the fall.”

Jon has been actively involved in fishing the Northwest Bass Tournament Circuit where my partner and I placed in the top 5 for Anglers of the Year, and notably winning the Banks Lake Opener in April 2012. Jon has always enjoyed giving back to the sports he enjoys by helping others share in the success he has been blessed with. His purpose is to educate and teach those who want to gain further knowledge of the sport of BASS fishing, upland hunting and dog training, so they can be more successful in the field and enjoy the wonderful outdoors.

We had an absolute blast down in Texas hunting deer this past week. Beau and I both harvested nice bucks and had the chance to take a few pigs and coyotes as well. Thanks Mike and Andrea for your hospitality!

It doesn't get much better than a St.Croix Legend X 7' MF Rod paired with a Seviin GX or GS Reel for the ultimate smallmouth set up! From tubes to ned rigs the Legend X rod is up to the challenge and the Seviin spinning reels have a buttery smooth drag that can handle the largest fish with ease!

Finally got my Seviin spinning reels and I can't wait to run them through the paces on the lake. The new GX series runs about $190 bucks and has all the high-end features you would want on a spinning reel. I put the 2500 series on my drop shot and tube rods with 20 pound Suffix 832 with an 8-pound FC leader. Coming in at 7.5 ounces with a 22 pound drag it is the perfect reel to handle hard pulling 5 plus pound smallies!

Loading the St. Croix Legends with the new Seviin reels! I've had the chance to run the GF baitcaster through the paces fishing lunkers on El Salto. From weightless flukes to 3/4-ounce jig heads with swimbaits they performed flawlessly. If you're in the market for a new reel check Seviin reels out! For under $130 bucks this reel performs well above its price point and will give you the upper hand bringing them to the boat!

Wrapping up a 5 day Mexico bass fishing adventure with Anglers Inn International. 2 1/2 days at Lake Picachos and 2 1/2 days at Lake El Salto. Fishing and accommodations were beyond what words can describe!

Lake Picachos we were putting 150 fish to the boat per day with our best day 100 bass in a half day! Average fish size was between 2.5 to 3 pounds. Swim baits and flukes were the baits of choice during this trip. A great tune up for El Salto!

At El Salto, we were boating 60 to 75 fish per day with an average fish size around 4.5 pounds. Lots of fish in the 5 to 6 pound range with the biggest fish of the trip over 7 pounds. Top Water bite was awesome each morning with fish crushing popper and prop baits. A - Rigs, swim baits, Texas rig 10 inch worms and 8 inch lizards rounded out the arsenal for this trip!

Looking forward to the next trip south of the border.
