We haven’t posted for a while…FloMed and life have been busy! We are so fortunate that our business provides us an opportunity to explore amazing parts of this great country. Recently we’ve worked in Texas, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. This week: New York, Ohio, and Minnesota. We always look for historic hotels and great food. What an adventure!!

We recently completed a whirlwind trip by testing in four states in five days! Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wyoming. We even had time for an overnight stay in Chicago for a little fun.

It could be easy to assume that slabs in arid environments won’t suffer from moisture intrusion. But water is a powerful force.

We recently tested a slab in Arizona and 11 of the 22 relative humidity tests we placed had a reading over 99%. This moisture is causing the current flooring to fail shortly after installation. Oftentimes, it’s the landscaping or roof drains that are the culprit! If water isn’t directed away from the foundation, it could greatly affect the flooring…even if the environment seems dry or if the slab is “old so it must be dry.”

Don’t contact us after the floor failure. It’s best to have us test prior to installation so you have the data to make informed decisions for your flooring project. Call us at 303-507-2666.

We recently installed calcium chloride tests at the Denver International Airport’s Great Hall. The best part was when a random passerby asked Ryan if he’s part of the Illuminati. His denial only made him look like he was going to a secret meeting. Lol.
