🎆🎆 Review of Disneyland! 🎆🎆

This was one of the most magical vacations we have taken, and I must say there was a level of ease navigating the smaller parks with our toddlers.

We flew into LGB, which is about 25 minutes from the Disneyland Resort, where we stayed for the duration of our trip. This airport is super tiny, so very easy to navigate and quick getting in and out!

We used the Diamond Driver Guy for transportation to and from the airport. They were the BEST! They are family owned and operated, provided safe car seats for our children, and allowed a 30 minute shopping trip on the way to the resort. This meant no lugging car seats on the plane and the ability to grab snacks and food items to feed the kids and help with costs in the parks!

The Disneyland hotel was AMAZING! There are so many close options that are off property for Disneyland, but we got the right price. Let me start by saying everything was so clean, and they had the most security on property I’ve ever seen. We even chatted with one of the guards about her working dog one night.

We stayed in the Frontier Tower, but all 4 towers surround the pools. They had numerous pools, a children’s splash pad, and several Monorail themed water slides. Life jackets were available for use if you wished.

Food options on property were great! Pricey, but delicious. We did do one character breakfast - Goofy’s Kitchen and I will say you pay for the experience - not the food. That was the only time I did not care for the meal. I’ve heard breakfast and brunch are better. We were able to spend time with Goofy, Chip and Dale, Minnie, and Pluto!

The hotel room had light up headboards with fireworks and music. Some rooms have special light up mirrors. We were able to walk outside our tower and within 3 minutes be inside Downtown Disney. It was SO EASY! Security was phenomenal. They really took the time to search, which I felt was important.

Downtown Disney has a new green area for kids to play, lawn chairs, and nightly bands. I think this area was one of my kids’ favorite activities the entire trip.

From there is about a 5-10 minute walk to the parks, which are right across from each other. They do have a monorail which takes you in to Disneyland Park to Tomorrowland, however it was only running one time our entire trip due to the heat. The lines moved quickly to get into the parks.

Disney California Adventure day was seamlessly. We must have walked on to 8-10 rides that morning. We did the early entry, and rode:

- ⚪️ Goofy’s Sky School

- ⚪️ Guardians of the Galaxy (LL)
- ⚪️ Monsters Inc Mike & Sully to the Rescue (LL)

We paid for the Parade Dessert Party and let me tell you - ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY. We had front row seats to the parade, in the shade, with the most delicious snacks, and unlimited drinks. YALL, I cannot stress how incredible that experience was!

We also met Anger, Sully, Elsa, Anna, and Mickey! We did Tutltle Talk with Crush, and had a Disney Junior Dance Party.

And our day was done by 5 pm!

The next day we did Disneyland Park, which I found slightly more difficult with the kids.

We:

- ⚪️ Walked through Goofys house
- ⚪️ Played in Donalds duck pond
- ⚪️ Minnie and mickeys run away railroad (Rope Dropped)
- ⚪️ Chip n dales gadget coaster
- ⚪️ Met Belle, Snow White, and Ariel at Royal Hall (45 minute wait)
- ⚪️ Buzz Light years Astro blasters x 2 (LL)
- ⚪️ It’s a small world x 2
- ⚪️ Matterhorn bobsleds (LL)
- ⚪️ Mad tea party
- ⚪️ Walked through the castle
- ⚪️ Big thunder mountain Railroad (LL)
- ⚪️ Adventureland treehouse
- ⚪️ Pirates of the Caribbean (LL)
- ⚪️ Haunted Mansion (VQ)

For toddlers, Toontown was fantastic, and I think my kids would have stayed there all day long. A lot of the rides they could ride in Fanstyland did not have LLs and the rest had long wait times, so we decided to skip those. I just felt this park was a bit more difficult to secure rides and was much more crowded than our day at DCA. However, all in all a great day!

22 rides, 2 shows, 2 parades, and 14 character meet and greets - I feel like we conquered Disneyland!

With a little less than 2 weeks left of Pixar Fest Disneyland, make sure to make time to meet more than 20 different Pixar characters (some never seen before at a Disney park).

For the first time at Disneyland Resort, guests may encounter Pixar characters Ember and Wade (“Elemental”), as well as Luca and Alberto (“Luca”) at the Pixar Pals Playtime Party at Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park.

Guests may also spot Ian and Barley (“Onward”) near their van Guinevere at this high-energy fun zone for the entire family.

Haunted Mansion Holiday Returns to Disneyland Park Starting TODAY!

The Haunted Mansion Holiday returns just in time for the Halloween Time and Holiday seasons at the Disneyland Resort. The attraction will don décor inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” At the center of the frightful fête’s ballroom scene is the gingerbread house, with an all-new design.

As work on the outdoor queue continues, Guests can gain access to Haunted Mansion exclusively with virtual queue.

Yee haw! We can bear-ly contain our excitement that Country Bear Musical Jamboree is officially opened at Walt Disney World!

✈️✈️TRAVELING WITH TODDLERS✈️✈️

Let's talk traveling with kids! I know many parents are nervous to take their young children out of the country, or even domestically, because of worry and stress that comes about with flying.

We have traveled with our toddlers since Noah was just over 1 overseas. I will be honest, it isn't always pretty! Time change, jet lag, 8-10 hour flights - it is a lot to ask of a tiny human to cope with.

I find preparing the best I can really helps reduce the worry of it all:

On the flight - BE PREPARED -
1) Snacks - Pack ALL the SNACKS! Then pack some more. We also pack an empty water bottle to fill up after security. Having them munch on a snack and drink water during take of and landing helps with those ears popping. We find plane food to be a hit or miss with our kids - Bacon sandwich? Noah is all about! Chicken curry - he dumped out everywhere.

Be sure to see if your flight offers kid's meals ahead of time and when you need to pre-select that dining request!

2) Activities - Keep them busy! I usually hit up the Dollar Store and 5 below prior to our flights for new activities!
💙 Crayons/Markers and coloring books
💙 Dry Erase boards/markers/wipe
💙 Head phones WITH a cord - they can use these on long flights to watch a movie - Blue tooth will not work with the screens on the plane
💙 Tablets/IPads - We are not those parents that don't believe in electronics - To each their own, but I have to survive these long 10+ hr journeys
💙 Stickers - Time to decorate the plane!

3) Bedtime routine - With international flights, chances are one of your flights will be "overnight". It is so important for our kids to sleep on the plane in order to *try* to avoid total meltdowns the following day.
💙Bring their jammies and get them changed into them after dinner
💙 I allowed a short amount of screen time and then covered them with blankets and pillows - and they BOTH slept SIX hours straight on our most recent flight to London!
💙 See if your airline will allow blow up foot rests or toddler sleep chair attachments. Not all do - and I will be honest, ours did not - but I still used mine and no one said a word about it. This allowed us to rest comfortably on that journey.

4) Be understanding and patient - It's important to realize that plans won't always go your way - and meltdowns are going to happen! Again, it is a lot to ask of children to adjust to time zone changes and traveling can be exhausting!

We have had our fair share of meltdowns along the way - right outside the Royal Palace to be exact. Also at every public transportation stop on the way to Grandma and Grandad's house after our 8 hour flight. Just breathe - and go with the flow. AND BRING SNACKS!

I love watching my kids be able to explore the world so young! So while traveling with tinies can be difficult, it is also so so WORTH IT!
