Wine lovers, there is a new wine bar on 62 and 53 called Bacchus. The owner Enoch is a wonderful host and wine expert. He speaks great English too. I had my birthday dinner here last October with my friends: architect, neighbor, and builder. Add this to your must visit places in Mérida.

I asked the taxi driver where to buy pottery and he took me to this road side stand. I bought all the dishes in classic blue and white for the The Blue Cactus House.

I am a HUGE fan of Enrique! He is an artist from Cuba and he resides and creates in Mérida. The process is fascinating. He uses various tools to etch the image backwards into a piece of plastic and makes prints from there. Each print is limited in number. I think about 20 copies per print if I recall right. Lucky me I got to purchase the typewriter for The Blue Cactus House. Zoom in very close to his works and you will see the details. located on 66 between 55 and 57.

My stepmom just made me these gorgeous and elegant curtains for the blue cactus house. They are privacy curtains for the windows in the front door, but they still let in a lot of light.

Every Saturday the Slow Food Market in the Garcia Gineres neighborhood serves up organic produce, breads, coffee, cheeses, and eggs among other things. I love coming here on Saturdays when I am in town in Mérida Mexico, Yucatan baby!

Trying my hand at painting in Mérida. My tick-tock bird painting is on display at The Library House. It was a fun day and I was the only student. For the next "class" I had the teacher come to The Library House for an in house painting session with friends.

When I say lamp you say laaaammmppps! Check out these amazing lamps. I bought four of these for the bedrooms in The Blue Cactus House. The black ones for the primary bedroom and the antique gold ones for the second bedroom. They are really both like primary bedrooms as each room has a king size bed and its own bathroom. I can't wait to see these lit.
