Professor and Senior Trainer Carl P Pappalardo- 7th Dan Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu, 1st Dan in Sumo, 1st Dan Tae Kwon Do, Former pro boxer, Freestyle Greco roman submission and folk style wrestling. Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu has been developed over 35 years of wrestling and
martial arts experience. I have trained in numerous styles and I continue to improve upon the system as my education expands. I was appointed
7th Dan in, and founder of, Go Ho Ryu by a board of higher ranking Black Belts. 23 years working as a bouncer gave me first hand experience in effective techniques. Almost all of the techniques have been tested, for efficiency, at one time or another, and are based on physics and balance, not brute strength. I encourage all of my students, however, to be as strong as they can be. The definition of Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu is: hard method of soft science. In the beginning, training must be very hard and physical, yet the techniques, for the most part, are very gentle. I choose specific techniques, on an individual basis, to suit the body type of each student. Once the student receives a black belt, I begin to teach on a more intellectual level, but hard physical training remains. When the student is ready, a spiritual tone is included, but intellectual and physical aspects are never disregarded. Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu Black Belt Certified Under Professor Carl Pappalardo:
John Carlo, 1st Dan
Patrick Spaulding, 3rd Dan
Cody Johnson, 2nd Dan
Andrey Massey, 1st Dan

Core Defense Combat Systems (CDCS) was in development 17yrs ago when Cody L. Johnson started a quest to creat a system that would be completely effective in self defense and in MMA. Blending what was taught initially with Jeet Kune Do/Filipino Kali, the system went through several transitions until Cody was blessed to meet Michael Zeilinksi, a Senior Full Instructor in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Kali. After earning the rank of Rapid Assault Tactics Instructor and achieving Rank of 1st Degree Black Belt Instructor in MCMAP, Core Defense Combat Systems made it's first approach with fine tuning a program that was effective and able to empower the Trainee. Cody went through a reserve police officer program class and also attended a course with the Georgia Tactical Force for forced entry and building clearing tactics and fast reaction fire arm engagements. During a 3 year pause as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor, much of self defense, crowd control and force continum was in force, further developing Cody as a self defense practitioner. After a 3 year pause in physical teaching and training due to obligations as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor, Cody revamped the process of instruction with the Rapid Assault Tactics or RAT curriculum, centered as the start point to get the basic and effective self defense for those who desired self defense and for those to have a better base to work from and expand through the process of self discovery through training. Then, after the RAT, the students are taken through four rigorous phases that address striking, controlling or known as grappling and stick/knife and Firearm defense and usage. After meeting Patrick J. Spaulding and learning of Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu, the simularities in technique and philosophy made great impact. Eventually, being blessed to meet Professor Carl P. Pappalardo made for something honored to occur. Professor Carl P. Pappalardo honored Cody with a 2nd Dan Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu and an eventual merge of system ideas began the formation of Core Defense Combat Systems. Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu and Jeet Kune Do/Filipino Kali are now the official Martial Art Systems for CDCS under Professor Carl P. Pappalardo, Founder of Go Ho Ryu Jujutsu and Sifu Cody Lee Johnson, Senior Instructor in Jeet Kune Do/Filipino Kali.
