Æ - 360° View within the the Vank Cathedral
- Isfahan, Iran
▫At first glance from the street, the Vank almost appears to be of Islamic design, however, within this curious church is a wonderful collection of "Westernized" religious iconography. Evidently, the church is Armenian and officially affiliated to the Armenian Apostolic Church.
▫Established in 1606, the cathedral is dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Armenian who were ousted from their homeland by Shah Abbas I during the Ottoman War of 1603-1618 CE. These Early 17th century Armenian immigrants spared no effort in creating this cathedral: one of Iran's many historic treasures of art.
