Capybara are always nice to see...but when they begin to approach the water DON"T take your eyes off of them...or else they slip beneath the water and take a long dive...not to be seen again (maybe on the other side of the river if you're lucky)....watch how gracefully the world's largest rodent 'submarine' disappears from view ...without even a ripple!!!
It was really great watching this Guianan Cock-of-the-rock preening at Corkwood in October. This is after a harpy eagle scared it away but it came back after the harpy was chased out of the trees by a large troop (30+) of Black Spider-monkeys...with Steve Harford & Jean McKell....
