Hello... Long time no see. I'm fine. I know that I've been silent but that's because I've been very busy. Last year 2023 I took part in different projects including preparing Japan for the 2025 Deaflympic Games. Today I want to send you updates about Deaf World Adventures. We're still here. We just uploaded new tours on our website. Also to let you know that we have changed our website, reducing clutter and making it more simple for users. Please have a look at it. Thank you!

This is at the Giraffe Center in Nairobi. The giraffes are rescued from Kenya reserves. They were found injured or orphaned before moving to the center. They never returned to the wildness. They live at the center that is next to the famous Giraffe Manor, a bed and breakfast hotel where they stick their heads into the house and eat breakfast with guests. The last photo is the Giraffe Manor.

Our Big Five!

We saw them all. The list of the big five animals is checked off this group's list. I think this is the 3rd group out of 8 that has seen a leopard.

Sorry for past groups that were only able to see 4 of the animals listed as the Big Five.

The most challenging animal to find is the leopard. You can see in our photo that our leopard was a lazy one sleeping in the tree. We found it with other safari vehicles hogging for a sight of the same leopard sleeping in the tree. It was actually hard to get a glimpse of the leopard in that tree.

Rangers came up to manage the hogging instructing everyone through CB radio to line up and give only 3 minutes.

Deaf World Adventures by D-travel Agency and Safari supplier (NTS) in Kenya thought it was time to limit the number of vehicles that could enter the park in one day. We agreed that animals needed their space. The Maasai Mara actually belongs to them. Over tourism will need to be administered someday soon.

Meeting up with Deaf community in Nairobi. We went to visit the Kenya Association for the Deaf and met with the members and leaders.

We thought that there has been an enormous amount of effort in promoting Deaf people and sign Language. All leaders at KNAD have been doing awesomely.

Kenya will host the 2025 WFD conference in Nairobi. They’re busy planning the event and are looking to welcome international visitors when the confer begins.

Photo Dump of wildlife animals and scenery at the Maasai Mara.

A little more about the Maasai Mara. It is one of the most famous and important wildlife conservation in Africa. It is world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, leopard, cheetah and African bush elephant. It also hosts the Great Migration, which secured it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as one of the ten Wonders of the World.

It’s a great place to explore.

We’re on a picnic in the open at the Mara.

Lunch box included a vegetable sandwich on fresh home baked bread, a piece of grilled chicken, potato salad and fresh fruit.

We were blessed with good weather, nice scenery and a fascinating lecture about change on the Maasai Mara by Peter.
