Police gearing up for the protests. It's pretty common here. This time it's the construction workers wanting higher wages and less corruption. Roads get blocked and the only option is to go on foot. We had to walk an hour to the airport today to pick up our group from . Luckily we were able to drive back to the hotel.

These are called Picarones, Perú's version of the doughnut. They're made from a mixture of sweet potatoes and yellow squash that is then deep fried and covered in maple syrup. They're very delicious.
