This 100% baby alpaca wool coat for a toddler will cost you $150.00 but it's pretty darn cute. Baby alpaca wool is from an alpaca's first shearing and is extremely soft and warm.

Paracas in southern Peru is a beautiful sunny town on the coast. Penguins, seals, pelicans, and whales are common here.

Palccoyo is a great alternative to the Rainbow Mountain hike. There are far fewer tourists here. We almost had the place to ourselves. The elevation here is about 15,000ft.

Not many know that the potato is originally from the Peruvian Andes. The country is home to nearly all 4,000 varieties that are found on the planet. The Inca were especially good at acclimatizing crops such as potatoes to different altitudes.

Temple of the Sun . From here the Inca were able to observe the solstices at Machu Picchu. There are two open windows in the temple. The sun will align perfectly with one on the summer solstice and the other on the winter solstice.

Schools are competing this week to see who has the most coordinated and authentic dances. Each school has costumes and dances from a distinct region of the country.

Police gearing up for the protests. It's pretty common here. This time it's the construction workers wanting higher wages and less corruption. Roads get blocked and the only option is to go on foot. We had to walk an hour to the airport today to pick up our group from . Luckily we were able to drive back to the hotel.

The variety of oranges here is incredible. The ones with the green peels make the sweetest orange juice. 🇵🇪

These are called Picarones, Perú's version of the doughnut. They're made from a mixture of sweet potatoes and yellow squash that is then deep fried and covered in maple syrup. They're very delicious.
