The wand chooses the wizard, you know, and everything about visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is like stepping straight into the movies and books - even the wands! Here are a few helpful tips for aspiring wizards to know before hitting these areas of both parks:

Interactive vs Standard Wands: Not all wands are created equally so be sure to choose wisely based on what you want to do. Interactive wands are pricier but there are lots of spell locations throughout both parks (marked by medallions on the ground) where you can put your wizarding skills to the test.

Ollivanders Wand Shop: For the serious fans, this is a special place. Small groups are taken into the shop and a lucky one will be chosen to go through a wand selection. Even if you aren’t chosen, you will find wands for all the beloved (and villainous) characters.

Spell Locations: There are more than 20 areas through the Wizarding World where you can test out your skills with an interactive wand, which comes with a map of spell locations. A word of warning, many of these are tough to get just right so don’t get discouraged. There are usually Team Members around to help if you need a little extra assistance.

Sure, new and shiny is fun, and Disney Cruise Line is breaking out ALL the new and shiny ships lately! But you know the saying, “Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other is gold.” There’s just something special about DCL’s older ships like the Disney Dream. These ships have been said to be easier to navigate, have a more classic Disney vibe and a more intimate layout. Avid DCL Castaways, which do YOU prefer...the older vessels like the Dream and Magic or the new and shiny like the Wish and Treasure?

Tiana fans rejoice! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially up and running on BOTH coasts at Walt Disney World AND Disneyland. This reimagined version of Splash Mountain has your favorite characters from the movie, toe tapping music and a few surprises along the way. Even better, it is still available via Virtual Queue and also offers Lightning Lane access. Who has had the chance to visit Tiana‘s Bayou? What did you think?

(TIP: Look for subtle nods to Splash Mountain in the standby queue and inside Critter Co-Op.)

There’s so much buzz around Disneyland this year as they prepare to kick off their 70th anniversary celebration. If you’d like to get ahead of all the celebration chasers and enjoy the parks when it is a little more quiet and with all the original magic, why not NOW?! No time like the present, and I have to think visiting during the Lunar New Year celebration will bring good luck to you ALL year long! (Just ask Mushu and the ancestors!) The Lunar New Year celebration is unique to Disneyland, so East Coasters-let’s gooooo! Anyone else think this looks like the best cure for the winter blues?

Happy National Pizza Week! Let’s talk about this ultimate crowd-pleaser. It’s quick, inexpensive, and always hits the spot—especially when you’re in the middle of a fun-filled day at Universal Studios.

One great quick service value eating spot in Universal Studios is Louie’s Italian Restaurant. Their jumbo slice combo is a large slice of pizza with a side Caesar salad for under $20. (In the theme park world, that’s a steal...and it really is a “jumbo” slice.) Couple that combo with your Freestyle refillable cup and it’s a lunch that saves plenty of your shekels for some Butterbeer! What’s your go-to, quick service theme park favorite lunch?

When planning where to eat while enjoying your Walt Disney World vacation, do you prefer buffet style restaurants, a traditional sit down restaurant or a mixture of both? Buffets are a great way to chow down on loads of food while rubbing elbows with some beloved characters, but they may not be everyone’s cup of ‘Ohana POG juice. Sure, Disneyland has Avengers Campus and that’s awesome, but where can an East Coast fan go to get their fair share of super hero action? Swing into Universal Studios and spend some time in Super Hero Island to save the day with Spider Man, battle Doctor Doom, go head to head with the Hulk and have a super hero filled character meal at Cafe 4 with super pals like Captain America, Wolverine and Storm. Where is your favorite super hero spot in Universal?

Talk about a vacation within your vacation, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is your own slice of Tahitian paradise just minutes away from the most magical place on earth. The Poly isn’t for guests who just want to “rest their heads” at a Disney Resort. This resort is meant to be EXPERIENCED. Whether it’s taking a dip in the volcano pool, having a cocktail at Trader Sam’s, strolling the gift shops or hugging on Stitch at an ‘Ohana breakfast, you are going to need at least one resort day. Is the Polynesian on your resort bucket list? What would you want to enjoy first? I will be there at the end of March - I can't wait!

Happy 21st Birthday to Disney’s Pop Century Resort! (She’s now old enough to enjoy a Pina CoLAVA from Petals Pool Bar!) This super groovy resort has been a guest favorite for over two decades, but once the Skyliner became a mode of transportation, this resort is WHEELY popular. As a Disney Value Resort, the price is perfect for budget savvy travelers, but it also manages to have a more laid back vibe than some of its Value Resort category pals. If you call Pop Century home for your trips, what is it that keeps you coming back again and again to this resort?

Visiting the parks during peak holiday weeks doesn’t have to feel like a lump of coal. In fact, Universal Orlando has some fantastic workarounds to make a busy park a non-issue and the holiday lights shine a bit brighter. For one, you all know about their flawless Express Pass Unlimited lines that make you feel like a vacay VIP. But did you know there is also a holiday VIP tour that takes you backstage with the Grinch, Max and Santa? What better way to get on the nice list than some extra face to face time with the big guy? When visiting Animal Kingdom, guests really do have to keep their head on a swivel. There are nooks and paths everywhere that are easy to miss if you are lost in your phone and not present in the moment. One of the biggest treats is the Wildlife Express Train over to Conservation Station. Not only is there a petting zoo and the property veterinary center but guests of all ages can take an actual animation class to learn how to draw characters (for FREE!) Show of hands-who didn’t know this special park spot existed?

Supper at The Grand Floridian

We ate outside at the Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian tonight for supper, so that's why we don't have our masks on for the moment, but we are basically the ONLY ONES OUT HERE!! The little blue dot in the background is Cinderella's Castle!! Here's a little video for you.... 😊😊😊

I fell in love with Disney when I was 7 years old and had gone to Disneyland for the first time.
