National Buffet Day! Who is indulging today?

When planning where to eat while enjoying your Walt Disney World vacation, do you prefer buffet style restaurants, a traditional sit down restaurant or a mixture of both? Buffets are a great way to chow down on loads of food while rubbing elbows with some beloved characters, but they may not be everyone’s cup of ‘Ohana POG juice. Sure, Disneyland has Avengers Campus and that’s awesome, but where can an East Coast fan go to get their fair share of super hero action? Swing into Universal Studios and spend some time in Super Hero Island to save the day with Spider Man, battle Doctor Doom, go head to head with the Hulk and have a super hero filled character meal at Cafe 4 with super pals like Captain America, Wolverine and Storm. Where is your favorite super hero spot in Universal?

Talk about a vacation within your vacation, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is your own slice of Tahitian paradise just minutes away from the most magical place on earth. The Poly isn’t for guests who just want to “rest their heads” at a Disney Resort. This resort is meant to be EXPERIENCED. Whether it’s taking a dip in the volcano pool, having a cocktail at Trader Sam’s, strolling the gift shops or hugging on Stitch at an ‘Ohana breakfast, you are going to need at least one resort day. Is the Polynesian on your resort bucket list? What would you want to enjoy first? I will be there at the end of March - I can't wait!

Happy 21st Birthday to Disney’s Pop Century Resort! (She’s now old enough to enjoy a Pina CoLAVA from Petals Pool Bar!) This super groovy resort has been a guest favorite for over two decades, but once the Skyliner became a mode of transportation, this resort is WHEELY popular. As a Disney Value Resort, the price is perfect for budget savvy travelers, but it also manages to have a more laid back vibe than some of its Value Resort category pals. If you call Pop Century home for your trips, what is it that keeps you coming back again and again to this resort?

Visiting the parks during peak holiday weeks doesn’t have to feel like a lump of coal. In fact, Universal Orlando has some fantastic workarounds to make a busy park a non-issue and the holiday lights shine a bit brighter. For one, you all know about their flawless Express Pass Unlimited lines that make you feel like a vacay VIP. But did you know there is also a holiday VIP tour that takes you backstage with the Grinch, Max and Santa? What better way to get on the nice list than some extra face to face time with the big guy? Is feeling a little extra during the holiday season something that you’d add to your trip Christmas list?

When visiting Animal Kingdom, guests really do have to keep their head on a swivel. There are nooks and paths everywhere that are easy to miss if you are lost in your phone and not present in the moment. One of the biggest treats is the Wildlife Express Train over to Conservation Station. Not only is there a petting zoo and the property veterinary center but guests of all ages can take an actual animation class to learn how to draw characters (for FREE!) Show of hands-who didn’t know this special park spot existed?

Universal is quietly ROCKING the holidays. Many people don’t even know the amazing offerings like Grinchmas, Christmas at Hogwarts nighttime spectacular, a Macy’s Holiday Parade, a super fun Christmas Tree Scavenger Hunt, and all the tasty holiday themed treats. That’s good for us though, we can wrap up a Universal holiday trip and put it under the tree, use our Express Pass Unlimited Passes to zoom through the lines and soak up all the Wizarding World magic ourselves. Let’s keep how incredibly special Universal Orlando Resort is at Christmas time all to ourselves, okay?

If you are looking for some room to spread out, a place where you can bring your fur baby, additional privacy and more activity related resort amenities during your next stay at Walt Disney World, try the new Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. It’s glamping with horseback riding, fishing, archery, carriage rides and a lively dinner show. These cabins are Disney’s best kept secret! Who else loves this special nook of the property? (And who just wishes we kept this a secret?!)

Sure, there’s things that Walt Disney World does better than Disneyland (like the size for one) but maaaan, is there anyone else with HUGE Avenger FOMO every time they see images from Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park? You can dine at Pym Test Kitchen, have a Guardians dance off, save the campus from Spider-Bots and meet Avengers like Doctor Strange just walking around, being cool and saving the universe in their spare time. What would you want to do first at Avengers Campus?

Sound the alarms! New adorable merch has landed in the Disney parks! Gone are the days where you and the pal next to you in the buffet line had the same set of ears, now you can create your own set! Choose from a variety of different characters and slide them on to your chosen headband base. What do you think? Are you all onboard to design your own or do you prefer to leave that to the experts?

Disney is piloting a new service comparable to Universal’s express pass!

In the coming weeks, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will begin piloting a new service providing expedited entry to theme park attractions: Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be offered in very limited quantities and will give guests one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in the theme park they are visiting that day. This includes attractions included in both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, but with Lightning Lane Premier Pass, guests do not need to select an experience time. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be a premium offering, and prices will vary based on the date and theme park guests are visiting.

At Disneyland Resort, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available first come, first served beginning two days in advance of a theme park reservation and will be valid for use in both theme parks. The first date it will be available is October 23, 2024.

At Walt Disney World, when Lightning Lane Premier Pass launches, it will be available to guests staying at Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts and may be purchased up to seven days in advance of their stay. It will only be valid for use in one park of the guest’s choice per day. The first date it will be available is October 30, 2024.

You can find M&Ms of EVERY flavor and color here (and you may be surprised at some of those options) along with some items exclusive to the Disney Springs mega store. Which M&M color and flavor has the biggest hold on your sweet tooth? Have you made a stop in this colorful candy store?

**Pro Tip Alert!** Want to save some cash and calories while eating Quick Service at the Disney parks? Here’s a little secret… kids’ meals are where it’s at! If you’re not on the Disney Dining Plan, aren’t a big eater or don’t like to share, why pay for food you’ll barely finish? Order a kids’ meal! At least look at the options, because they are way easier on your wallet, typically healthier and surprisingly good.

Talk about a win-win-win: you save money, don’t feel overstuffed, and won’t feel guilty snacking around “the World.”

Next time you’re at the parks, don’t be afraid to check out that kids’ menu! My daughter and I do this a lot!

Hi! My name is Emily Morris and we are about to form a fabulous relationship over Disney vacations! I am an Independent Travel Agent with Destinations to Travel, LLC. I fell in love with Disney when I was 7 years old and had gone to Disneyland for the first time. Since then I have traveled between Disneyland and Walt Disney World a total of 15 times - even on my honeymoon!
