Upon their return, some soldiers took up the offer of land packages in rural Australia to start a new life.

Today, we have generations of farmers still on the land, in communities, and a visible footprint in the community made by our brave men and women who went to war for us.

We are forever thankful for these fellow Aussies who gave their yesterday for our today.

We have been advocating for and supporting our Murray Darling Basin communities for a few years now.

2022 saw us hold across 4 basin communities with Ambassadors Jason Singh, Huc, Flemo and Tim.
It was awesome to see families come together so, we are wanting to do it again.

Families are still struggling thanks to the plan, and that includes the kids.

We need your help in making

A very special troupe has been hand picked for this run where we will bring learning and laughter, parents & kids together for some time out with mates, laughter and learning 😀

Check out this photo of Big Lizzie that was captured in January of 1918! On the two trailers are four loads of wheat that had just been transported from Wargan to the Merbein Railway Station.

Big Lizzie, the brainchild of Mr Frank Bottrill, was built in 1915 with the intention of carting wool from outback stations in the Broken Hill area. In 1920, Big Lizzie was commissioned by the Victorian Government to clear land to establish the town of Red Cliffs - the largest soldier settlement in Australia.

Big Lizzie now stands proudly in Barclay Square as a tribute to all Red Cliffs Pioneers. Next time you're nearby, why not pay her a visit and find out more about her story?

Congratulations to our Shires beautiful town of Jamieson who has been announced as one of the five finalists for the 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards in the Tiny Tourism Town category 🤩🥳

This application was community led with support from Council, the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre and Tourism North East.

Public voting will take place from 1 June - 22 June. Keep your eyes peeled for a link once voting opens.
