From 8 January 2025, if you are visiting the UK for under six months, you will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to travel if you are of non-European nationality. An ETA is not a visa.

Travelers visiting the UK for more than six months, for example to live, work or study in the UK, should check for specific details regarding extended stays.

An ETA is electronically linked to a passport and valid for up to 2 years for multiple entries. If travelers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new ETA.

Recent cruisers on Royal Caribbean have noticed a change when ordering certain drinks. It seems Royal Caribbean has changed their policy on unopened bottles and cans of alcohol being served onboard. This mostly has to do with loyalty drink vouchers. The beverages served for drink packages were usually served opened anyway and it is well known that the drinks are to be consumed by the person with the drink package.

We would often get an unopened beer or water bottle to take back to our cabin at the end of the night if we had not used all of our vouchers for the day. But after multiple passengers were told this is no longer possible, some of them reached out to RC for clarification on the change. This is part of the response they got from RC.

"Recently, we have updated this policy to include the following: Any canned or bottled alcoholic beverages ordered at our bars must be opened before leaving the venue.

Kindly note, this policy does not apply to non-alcoholic beverages, such as canned sodas and bottled water, unless ordered through a Deluxe Beverage Package. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your understanding and cooperation with helping us to maintain a safe and enjoyable time onboard."

So just be aware if you were also used to being able to stock your cabin fridge with beer. Guess we will have to be more diligent in using our vouchers each day!

Appropriate for this Friday 13th!

Ever felt the delightful shiver of a ghostly thrill mixed with the excitement of discovery? That's exactly what we experienced at the most unique stop on the Eureka Springs Holiday Tour of Homes!

This house stood out with a fascinating fusion of eclectic, haunted charm—perfect for those of us who relish a spine-tingling twist with our holiday cheer. The owners, present and animated, shared captivating tales of their worldwide scavenger hunt. ️ From dusk-tinged thrift shops to mysterious alleyway antique stores, they’ve gathered treasures well-traveled, each piece a chapter in their extraordinary story.

Military artifacts mingled with eerie elegance, turning each room into a stage of stories, both spirited and spellbinding. This was hands down my favorite stop on the tour but there were definitely some that would not even go in!

Dive into the holiday spirit with us! We recently journeyed through the enchanting streets of Eureka Springs on the Holiday Tour of Homes! This year, the tour featured six homes, each dressed to impress in festive finery.

And guess what? Your tour ticket includes a trolley ride during the tour hours. It's both festive and fantastically convenient!

From cozy private abodes to a charming bed and breakfast, each stop was brimming with stories. With docents and some homeowners on hand, we were treated to captivating tales and tidbits about each home’s unique history and personality. We learned that the Piedmont House is actually the longest operating lodging facility in Eureka! It was originally built as tourist lodging in 1880 and has continued to offer accommodations for almost 145 years! Even longer than the Crescent Hotel!

I will post about the most unique home we saw on this tour tomorrow! It was a doozy!

So, whether you're a nostalgist at heart or just love the scent of pine and cinnamon, add the Eureka Springs Holiday Tour of Homes to your bucket list. It's a journey through dreams—that's reality, holiday style! It happens the first Saturday in December.
