Tonight I had the pleasure of representing Reuben's Retreat at the glittering Travel Weekly Globe Awards at the Grosvenor House London.

Along with a group of TC colleagues, I helped Reuben’s Retreat raise funds for their fantastic charity.

During 2024, I’ve been busier than ever creating amazing itineraries and booking memorable holidays for my clients so I needed a helping hand ✈️

So earlier this year, Donna started supporting me, some of you will have already been in touch with her as she assists with my administration post-booking and pre-travel which has been great to ensure everything runs smoothly for all my clients.

⭐️ Just spent a thoroughly enjoyable and inspirational weekend in Manchester at the annual Travel Counsellors conference, this year celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary 💫

In the words of our amazing CEO Steve Byrne, ‘It’s been a treat to be together’

It’s always great to hear about the company’s progress and achievements from the previous year as well as learn about the future plans.

Also included…
🥂 spent valuable time with my colleagues and getting to know new TCs,
🤝 met with suppliers to learn more about the vast range of travel options we can offer our clients
👀 listened to many amazing guest speakers including Mo Gawdat, Jo Malone and Bruce P**n Tip and so many more!!
As well as enjoying a raft of entertainment from the 🎿 apres ski themed evening and dancing the night away with🎵 legend Nile Rodgers 🎸 Ibiza in Symphony, ABBA tribute band and not forgetting our faves, Mad Hen 💃

I even managed to fit in a relaxing gong sound bath in between all the action 🙏

Exciting news, on Thursday this week, I’ll be heading to the 2024 Travel Counsellors Conference at Manchester Central! It's going to be an incredible time catching up with our amazing suppliers and other Travel Counsellors. I'll be soaking up all the latest travel advice which will help me create even better adventures for you and your loved ones.
I might be slightly slower to respond over this weekend, but rest assured, I’m here when you need me the most.

Postcards from Taiwan 🇹🇼 my client has just returned from a trip, having visited the capital Taipei and the southern city of Kaohsiung which are easily connected by bullet train - super easy with prebooked tickets and seat reservations.

🍜 The country might not be on your radar but it offers good value, delicious food and the people are really polite & welcoming. Look how vibrant it is after dark!

The hotels selected were central and modern, with iPad controls for blinds, lighting and music.

🇯🇵 Postcards from ... Japan!

🇶🇦 Doha, Qatar - the final stop on our summer travels.

It’s an interesting city contrasting the old and the new, displaying great pride in hosting the World Cup in 2022 and comes alive after dark when the temperature drops ever so slightly.

We visited as a stopover but it’s a great destination in its own right. There are plenty of amazing hotel options across the city and as it’s v hot in summer (too intense for a beach or pool holiday) there’s lots to see and do whilst keeping cool - we filled our time visiting amazing museums, wonderful shopping malls and enjoyed a football match in the air conditioned Khalifa International Stadium. Despite the heat, the Souq Waqif after dark is a must!!

Our hotel was well located across the road from the souk so it was super convenient to pop out in the evenings. And a quick dip in the roof top pool was a great way to cool off.

🇲🇻 Velassaru- Maldives

The next stop on our summer travels and little over an hour from Colombo, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit this little piece of paradise.

My first visit to the Maldives and this resort ticks all the boxes for me…

⭐️ Picture perfect white sand beaches and turquoise waters
⭐️ 2 bars and a fantastic buffet restaurant with so much choice, plus 3 a la carte restaurants
⭐️ Spa, yoga, tennis, watersports, excursions
⭐️ Short speedboat transfer from Male
⭐️ Small enough to walk around the island and large enough to have plenty of facilities

With the beautiful villas and welcoming staff, this island has been the perfect choice for our visit

🇮🇹 Just spent a wonderful couple of days revisiting this amazing city! We walked, walked and walked some more! The pizza, pasta, coffee and gelato kept us fuelled as we ticked off all the main sites. A highlight for us all was the time spent in the historical area; the Coliseum, Palatine Hill & the Forum. It’s also spectacular illuminated at night. I was also very appreciative of the cosy ristorante in Trastevere! 🍝 We won’t leave it so long to visit in future! #rometravel #travelcounsellors #familytravel #citybreak
