So we recently moved from Denver Colorado to rapid City South Dakota. Today was my first day back at work and I will have to say I LOVE MY COMMUTE!!!! About the same distance right now that I was driving in Denver, but now, 95% of my drive is in the Black Hills. Sooooo pretty! No traffic. 😍😍😍

Now that I have been driving more due to having a kid, I have decided that I should no longer feel guilty or bad if I ding some ones car door with mine because they can’t seem to park within the lines.

So there are some people out there that still read paper books! A lot on the train, too. I tend to look at the titles of books people are reading to see if it may be anything interesting. Then it hit me this morning! What fun it would be to make some off the wall book covers with weird titles to see if anyone notices. What titles would you come up with? Keep it clean.

So I am pretty sure that my daughter hates rush hour traffic more than me. That, or she is more willing to voice her opinion about it in FULL vocal octave and volume.

Second, I am pretty sure she wants to be a race car driver when she grows up. She is quiet most when the car is moving at 50MPH or more. Anything under and she will let you know it doesn’t please her.

When you are heading to a doctors appointment and you see multiple police vehicles driving in the same direction. Then you turn onto another street and see a SWAT armored car heading towards Those police cars you just saw. And the armored car followed by more police cars. None with their lights on though. So either something just went down or something is about to.

So now that we have a young child in the family, I no longer ride the train everyday to work. However, I have come across some interesting things in our car travels to and from daycare/work each day.

I am not sure if I am just more aware now that there is a tiny human in the backseat, but people are super rude and impatient when it comes to driving in the city. Or anywhere for that matter.

I counted no less than 10 cars this morning playing leapfrog in ALL of the lanes, only to get a few car lengths ahead. They are already speeding and now driving recklessly, not only endangering themselves, but all those around them too. Plus it was already proven on MythBusters that jumping lanes does NOT get you there faster.

People slow down. Someone else’s life, and possibly even your own, is not worth the carelessness on the roads these days. Also, open your eyes! Be aware of motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians alike.

And finally, please be sure your blinker fluid is full for both tanks on each side of the vehicle. You wouldn’t want to get pulled over for being out of blinker fluid, now would you? Here is a free coupon I found online that is 100% legit!

So for my followers that don’t know, my husband and I have been waiting on an adoption of a baby for the last 3 years. Tuesday we got the call that we had finally been chosen! So here is our daughters first experience with tales of public transit.

It’s always fun to watch people running to the train doors in hopes they can still push the button to get on the train once those doors have already closed. You watch with as much anticipation as they have. Will they be successful and the door open or will they be too late and the train pull away? I always cheer for them (on the inside) when the door opens and my heart breaks just a little when it does not.

It’s already been an adventurous morning. About to walk out the door when I can’t find the car keys anywhere. I know we had them last night as we ran errands. But not sure where they got put once we got home.

So luckily, I have the alternative of taking the bus to the light rail station. But it puts me back at least a half hour.

It’s just as I remember it. Teenage kids half passed out and the other half with ear buds in blaring music.

Good thing was I was up in time to see a gorgeous sunrise!

E, F, and H line trains are delayed up to 30 minutes both northbound and southbound due to a mechanical issue with H line train 52. Trains are proceeding on a single track between Colorado and Louisiana Stations. Trains may hold for up to 20 minutes while waiting for their turn to proceed.

Now granted, most rides on the train are fairly silent. No one talking to anyone. Everyone staring at their phones. However, once in a while you get to overhear some conversations amongst extroverted passengers with strangers. Oh the beauty in the accents, the different languages, the innocent small talk to fill a 15 minute train ride. It's fun to wonder what they are talking about in the other language. It's gorgeous hearing the different pitches and octaves that accents can have as compared to our own. We are all so different, yet all the same. ❤
