Day 4 was wet & wild! We started the day zip lining through the canopy along the Kaituna River where we also learned about the Māori culture and the history of the silver fern of New Zealand and how it symbolizes living forward together.
Bryce insisted on white water rafting on this trip, and I couldn’t be happier that he suggested it. This was the first time I’ve been white water rafting, and it was a blast!
We went with and had team Texas, team Ireland, and team Japan/Korea in our raft as we headed down the river. We said a Māori blessing to Chief Tutea and then it was time to head down the river and down Tutea Falls which is the highest commercially-rafted waterfall in the world at 7 meters (23 ft). Our raft went fully underwater which was pretty wild. I couldn’t have possibly had more fun and can’t wait for my next rafting experience!
