The noise of the world grows softer the farther one goes. The company of trees together with the company of people fills a few short days with memories to last a lifetime.

Steady feet do not fail you because for each step taken, rest is given. And for each rest given, a weary traveler smiles.

This coming August 16, Takot Tahak will be supporting an outreach program called “Project Lapis”. The goal would be to donate school supplies to 217 kids of the Aeta Community in Talaingod, Davao del Norte. Their baranggay doesn’t have electricity nor do they have signal, so online classes are impossible.

As of now, our friend has already collected old books and pencils for them.

We would like to ask for your kind help if we could provide them with other basic school needs such as notebooks and papers.

Any amount will do! 😊

Thanks in advance!!

When we are cradled by the mountains again,
may we always remember:
We saw everything, not from the summit, but from where we were.
What was wrong and right with the world and how we lived our lives.
The spirit that chooses to soldier on in spite of little patience;
that chooses the currency of laughter and stillness;
that chooses to dream of better tomorrows and unflinchingly climb towards them.
When we are cradled by the mountains again,
may we never forget.

Mt. Mataripis, the hidden garden of Brgy. San Andres, Tanay, Rizal.

Mt. Mataripis is a newly-opened mountain last August 2019 that has a wonderful summit ideal for a campsite. It offers a good space, water source, signal, and a kubo for a receiving area where you can prepare and cook food, wash dishes, and eat together more easily.

The availability of resources is almost similar to the convenience we experience down here in the city, yet the close proximity to nature is still heightened, giving a much deeper sense of calm and tranquility that probably a lot of us are longing for.
