Restoration work done on a pair of Heathkit W5-M amplifiers. These are one of the best measuring amps I've ever come across - very high quality output transformers. Available at Hawthorne Stereo in Seattle!

Here's the results from the prototype 18W push-pull 6L6GC amp. It puts out a clean 24 watts into 4 ohms @ about 1% distortion (@ 1kHz). Note the distortion spectrum is flat across the frequency spectrum, and is mostly 2nd harmonic- this makes for good sound..

Not bad for full power!

The sound is liquid and rich but with finesse and very fine detail. The bass is tight and controlled. This amp drove the Bryston Mini-T speakers wonderfully at "It's a Hi-Fi Store" yesterday.

Working on a new design.. Based on the design of the 66-100; but using 6L6WGT output tubes and lower rail voltages to achieve a tight 20 WPC. Will feature an easy bias system and based on a printed circuit board, seen below. This will be two different models, a straight power amp and an integrated amp featuring three inputs and a volume control. Same PCB and chassis could be used to build a 50 watter too!

So here's a nicer version of the ESA SET-10 single ended tetrode amplifier. This is closer to the production model, if it becomes a production model - depends on how much interest there is. I can tell you this, though - it sounds incredible driving high-efficiency speakers. Surprisingly good tight bass, clear liquid mids and delicate highs. Next I'll have someone who has better woodworking skills than I do build a 3 sided open box to set this baby into....

Finally got around to ordering the proper 10W transformers for my experimental single ended 6550 based amp. It sounds glorious! Now, to construct a better looking chassis....
