The hibernation alarm clock is buzzing! ⏰

Fresh grizzly bear tracks have been spotted in the snow in the North Fork of the park. Bears are starting to emerge from hibernation all across Montana and hikers should start taking precautions like hiking in groups, making noise, and carrying bear spray. 🐻

It’s the first day of spring! We're excited about the promise of warmer weather and gorgeous wildflower blooms. Winter is still holding on in many places but at , Texas blanket the hills of the desert landscape in impressive numbers. Seeing the official state flower of in full bloom across a field is a luxurious sight that you will never forget. March is a favorite time to visit the park as the desert floor is covered in white, yellow and purple flowers. Just remember, as you explore, please be aware and careful - getting distracted by beauty is a real thing. Photo courtesy of Lee McMullen.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Scenic overlooks in & in offer gorgeous views of endless mountain beauty. Many of the park’s roads are spectacular but can be unnerving in winter if you're not used to driving in snowy conditions. Be prepared and drive carefully and a pastel sunset over snow-dusted mountains can be your reward. Photo by Aaron Chen
