I'm not a volcanologist... But whatever. Out onto the still venting lava flow we went. 😁 You gotta die from something, right? Inhaling noxious fumes or falling into a still soft spot? Pick your poison!

Some trips are well planned, others are cobbled together with little notice and this was one of those trips. This quick trip to Iceland was inspired by the news of a new volcano that had the unusual characteristic of being easy to get close to! This video was shot from under 1/2 a kilometer away... the next day this hill I was on was cut off by the growing lava field. Seize the day folks!

This will, unfortunately, be the second year in a row that the return of the North Star Global crew's return the canal boat life is cancelled. I've been lucky to travel and see/do some amazing things but the week we spent on the canals in Scotland was perhaps my favorite. Check out this watery viaduct hundreds of feet over a river valley!
