Armyworms are being talked about everywhere!! They could be in our area as well, so keep an eye out. Tips to help prevent insect damage:
1. Water your lawn regularly during dry periods
2. Limit thatch build up
3. Mow on a regular basis

Armyworms are the worst they've been in two decades, and it's critical to treat them early to prevent damage.

We keep our vehicles just like we keep YOUR lawns….Clean and Pristine!! It’s been a great year so far. Summer fertilizer treatments will start on Monday. Get out and water your lawn if you can, the drought looks like it will continue according to the forecasts.

Spring Clean Up Tip - Hate raking your lawn, or it's too big to rake? Simply adjust the mower height to the lowest height, that won't scalp the lawn (don't hit dirt). The mower will cut/mulch the brown grass up, and allow sunlight to reach the soil surface, promoting an early Spring green-up. If you have some matted down grass , that was caused from prolonged snow cover, you can "fluff it up" with a leaf rake. A leaf blower (what I use) does a great job at fluffing up the matted grass. Hold it low to the ground. I hope these tips are helpful.

Spring Clean-up tip - This is for dog owners. With the snow rapidly melting, now is the time to start removing the dog's "Land Mines", from the lawn. I suggest, that you perform this task in the morning, when they're FROZEN. Why wait until they're all mushy, and you're walking around the yard gagging. Steve B.

I think Winter is finally over!! Temps will be in the 40's & 50's, over the next 10 days. No precipitation in the forecast as well. I will offer some Spring clean-up tips for lawns, after the snow melts. Steve Bruckner
