Still places available on this amazing eight night tour of Zimbabwe including seven nights in Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park in search of wild dog and African elephants. Mana Pools is unique in the fact that you can have incredible close encounters on foot with both African wild dog and elephant. The wild dogs have become accustomed to people on foot and will often approach those on safari, allowing unrivalled photographic opportunities. The bull elephants are equally approachable and will allow the opportunity to capture incredible images as they stand on their hind legs to feed on high branches of the Ana trees.

We will be accompanied by some of Zimbabwe’s finest guides - including Vundu Camp founder Nick Murray, an expert in the study of wild dogs. As we explore this riverine eco-system, they will share with us their unrivalled knowledge of this beautiful landscape and all that inhabits it. As well as the stars of the trip, we will hope to find other predators including lion and leopard as well plenty of wildlife and bird species.

As is the way with most safaris, we usually head out at dawn and return to camp before the heat of the day and head out again in the afternoon. We recommend that you have early nights to ensure we are all up bright and early each morning.

tried out the Pure Eatery on one of their nights. Potjiekos literally translated means ‘’small pot food’ and the Potjie is normally a meat and vegetable stew which originates from South Africa. At the Eatery you are given a choice of Chicken or beef and the stew comes in its own little pot on your table as part of a 3 course meal.
The meal was very delicious but it is the setting on the river which gives it its wow factor. Definitely worth arriving before sundown to enjoy beautiful views.

The River Brewing Co is located close to Elephant’s Walk artisan village, in the bustling centre of Victoria Falls. This is a very popular eatery with great ‘pub like’ food and has a variety of craft beers on sale. There are often local bands playing which gives it a good vibe.
Plenty of alfresco eating, and one of their dishes is tacos which Laura tried and highly recommends!

It is a delightful experience with quirky décor and colourful furnishings – real must do when in Vic Falls.

This August, took a short trip to and had the pleasure of staying a night at the exquisite right above the beach.
Beautiful rooms and views, great service and so much to do in the area, it is highly recommended.
Tofo village is only a few hundred meters away offering delicious beach side restaurants and a colourful market. Definitely recommended for honeymooners. Great add on destination before or after a safari.

Its worth doing an Ocean Safari with as they are really great value at USD40.00 per person for 3 hours.

Laura had a great stay at the new Romelda's Lakeside Retreat on the edge of Lake Mutirikwe, the stunning lake just outside Masvingo .

Masvingo is better known for visiting the , but staying at Romelda's' can also offer walking with White Rhinos in Kyle National Park and stunning boat cruises on the Lake.
A great destination for both groups and individuals.

My last stop - Sable Valley Lodge in Hwange. I was so excited to see this property – after her sister properties (Ivory and Khulu Lodge) all being amongst some of my personal favourites. The renovations and soft furnishing touches were really lovely and warm.
The views of the famed Dete vlei are just amazing. I think this has to be one of my favourite concessions outside of the Park – and the game viewing is really fantastic here too.
Highlight of my time here – was visiting the Jackal den on their site. This was a first for me – seeing a whole family of together with the babies.
Another highlight – was the herds of # elephant coming in to drink at the flood lit waterhole at night – it is truly something one has to experience themselves – there is no substitute for it!

My final stop in Victoria Falls the beautiful – WOW, the location for this property had me sold. Right on the river.
The theme is Queenslander (old style Australian) , building and décor , and whilst quite big with 73 rooms you didn’t get the ‘lost’ feeling as a couple.
Food was great and staff wonderful.
