Once upon a time in Peru, Viva la Vida Travel celebrated life with a small community of Quechua farmers high in the mountains above the Sacred Valley. By far, one of the most impressive moments I've had in travel.
Experience the Galapagos islands with Viva la Vida Travel aboard the Beluga in Ecuador!
Meet Vern Halter, 19 time iderod racer and his beautiful sled dogs at Dream a Dream dog kennel and sled dog camp in Willow, Alaska.
So you may be wondering, "How DO they make floating islands on Lake Titicaca in Peru?" Well, take a look at my new friends in Peru demonstrating just HOW they came to make their home!
These are Quechua people in the mountains of Lemay in the Sacred Valley. They were preparing an earth oven to cook the potatoes for our lunch. It took about 30 minutes to cook the potatoes and they were so delicious....Smokey and earthy. Think bacon flavored potatoes!!
Los charros are a specific type of cowboy who rides these dancing horses. It's truly a magical thing to experience.
I apologize that you're going to have to watch this video with your head tilted to one side, but trust me, you'll enjoy it.

Today as I work through a sickness that has invaded my body, I'm remembering my time with this cute little Mexican healer who performed a "limpieza" ( cleansing) on me while I was in Capulapam, Oaxaca, Mexico. I could use a limpieza right now, some natural remedies to cure what ails me and much needed time in a Temazcal. Tried and true remedies that have been used for centuries are still put into use in many towns throughout Mexico. It's a beautiful thing to see traditions carried on. Viva la Vida!
