Maybe a little more background is appropriate...
Circa mid-1980's. Jim McDonald and Dave Burke attend Humboldt State University and are awarded degrees in the prestigious field of Geography. At some point in the 1990's, Jim and Dave meet up again through the Sacramento cycling scene. Fast forward and each is now "married with children", on the... backside of their competitive cycling careers, and
in search of new and exciting ways to entertain themselves. Well, we offer the solution: motorcycles! In the last year or so, Jim acquired a KLR 650 and I a DL 650. A month or so ago, Jim asked if I would be interested in riding to Baja? Like yeah. Seeing as I am what I refer to as "underemployed" and Jim has the time off at work, all we needed to do was convince the wives (Catherine and Lisa). Catherine reluctantly agreed to the two week trip plan. Lisa suggested that we make it three weeks or even longer. So, "trip on!". This page will hopefully chronicle our trip planing, ex*****on, and summary for your entertainment. Follow along. It should be interesting.
