by popular request from my followers, here’s a little look behind the curtain at my process as a travel designer.
i have a masters degree in design, so one could say i know a thing or two about its premises and processes. design is all about moments of divergence and moments of convergence. you diverge when you do research and ideate all the possibilities; you converge when you make selections and hone in on a plan based on a set of criteria.
travel design, like any other form of design, really follows this same process. when working with me, i will start the process with user research - and you are the user! then i will conduct “desk research” and begin ideating all possible experiences for you. finally, i will start making choices and narrowing down to one single vision by evaluating all ideas through the lens of your travel style, hopes and dreams for the trip, and intended investment.

we used points to book business class tickets on en route to our honeymoon this past january… what a treat! but an even bigger treat was the ~27 hour layover we managed to plan in doha, qatar.
between an incredible stay at , a fantastic half day desert safari and camel ride, and another half day city cultural tour, we really packed a lot into our layover. my only regret is that we didn’t have MORE time in this amazing country.

i get it, i was a travel designer skeptic at one point too. but then my husband convinced me to work with a travel designer for our honeymoon and now i’ve been forever changed. i felt like a vip at every turn AND i could be present and stress-free!? it was then when i knew i wanted to do this for others.
