Of all the antelopes in South Africa, the Tsessebe is the fastest among them. When I saw my first one, I thought that left-over parts from many other antelopes had been put together to make this one. They are closely related to the Wildebeest and the Hartebeest, all of whom are characterized by an u...

On my first trip to South Africa, I saw a good number of Hippo’s from a distance through my binoculars, but it wasn’t until I saw one up close that I realized just how big these animals were. We had just driven down into a ravine on a dirt road that had a pond about 800 yards long and 600-yards-...
Big Game Farming in South Africa
Today read about how South African Farmers raise animals.
Big game farms are part of the landscape of South Africa. Just like we raise cows, South African game farmers raise native animals for the food market. Game farmers raise Nyala, Wildebeest, Impala, Kudu, and other animals to be sold in local meat markets. Part of each of my safaris includes a visit to a working game farm to observe, firsthand, how these wild animals are propagated and managed...

South Africa Is A Bird Watcher's Paradise!
While most of my safari participants go to see lots of big game animals, they leave having seen many varieties of birds unknown to them. Bird watchers are in hog heaven as Kruger National Park has sightings of over 450 bird species.

Happy Safari Sunday!
Today we are going to hear from one of our safari visitors.
From the start to finish the trip was an unbelievable 10 days. From staying on a working game farm, to a boat ride on a beautiful canyon, and the amazing animals we were surrounded by each day (especially the elephants). We had a short glimpse into the amazing area in South Africa they call home and I can’t wait to go back some day.

This week we are starting with a story into why Safari's are irreplaceable experiences.
To travel into the natural parts of Africa is to travel into the heart of Mother Nature in all its raw beauty. At the very least it is amazing, and at the most, life changing. This is what I have been told by those who go on a safari, get hooked, and they keep going back...
Those of us that have been in the military were able to go on a paid safari even though we did not volunteer for it. I always took advantage of doing the sightseeing went I got time off. Seeing pictures of Africa, it is a beautiful country, it is nothing like going to the zoo. The thing about being....
