This May, our founder is returning to her birthplace, Kazakhstan, and she’s bringing along a small group of adventurous travelers. You’re invited to join us!
It brings us such joy to share the places we love with other travelers. For years, we’ve brought groups to Jordan, and this spring, we’re traveling to Kazakhstan, a country in Central Asia that is still very much under the radar for most international travelers.
This 11-day journey will have us exploring Almaty, the city that was named one of the NYT’s 52 Places To Go this year. Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city. It has an incredible culinary & cultural scene and easy access to the Tian Shan mountains that surround the city. In Almaty, we’ll go to some of Yulia’s favorite spots. We’ll see bustling bazaars, taste foods like beshbarmak, a traditional meat and potatoes stew, and climb up Chymbulak, Almaty’s highest point deep in the Tian Shan mountains.
But this is only the start!
After Almaty, we’ll fly to Mangistau, Kazakhstan’s westernmost region. Mangistau is one of the few remaining places on Earth that are truly wild. Besides one town, Aktau, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, there is currently no human presence in Mangistau. But there are extraterrestrial landscapes, ancient mosques, nights spent under the stars, wild animals like two-humped Bactrian camels and the elusive moufflons, and our expert crew, creating a nomadic experience in the shape of Kazakh ancestors who traversed these lands centuries ago.
Sounds interesting? Don’t miss your chance to see Kazakhstan this May!
