With so much water around Puerto Peñasco, there are many opportunities for water sports, including snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. It’s possible to rent equipment right on the beach.
We visited Puerto Peñasco on a particularly windy weekend, so we took advantage of the calmer water surrounding The Club at Laguna del Mar to kayak and paddleboard.
There are many more exciting and fun things to do in Rocky Point Mexico with new adventures being offered every day. In my opinion it is impossible not to have fun in our beautiful seaside town.
Horseback riding on the beach-Whether this gets your heart beating or not may depend on how experienced you are in the equestrian arena. Just riding any animal is exciting, and a beach ride at sunset is romantic and may make your heart beat in a different way.
If you're a fan of seeing random sights in a town, come see the bust of Victor Estrella. It is down by the Malecon and work a bit of a walk.
Do you like shopping, but hate the throngs of people that cloud the malecon? Look no further than Rodeo Drive. Otherwise called the "dirt mall" by the locals, it has all of the things of the malecon, with less people
This place is the heart of Rocky Point. It is where all of the shops are, and where some of the best places are. Having some street tacos here and shopping for seafood for dinner and souvenirs for home is a great day!
Practically everybody loves Mexican food ;-) , right ? In Puerto Penasco, with its location right on the Sea of Cortez, there is also a lot of incredible seafood.
Puerto Penasco is known for its sunsets, and those sunsets can be enjoyed from the sea aboard the Senorita Rita catamaran.
The Club at Laguna Del Mar is one of the newer golf courses withv most of the holes are guarded by salt water lagoons or the Sea of Cortez. Wildlife is everywhere so it’s easy to get distracted.
Did you know that Puerto Peñasco is home to a World Heritage Site in the form of El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve.
Mexico is a diverse country as far as birds go, so there are plenty of prime birding watching spots the length and breadth of the country, including Puerto Penasco which has its fair share of winged animals.
If you don’t fancy sticking your head under the water in Puerto Penasco, you can try your balance (and your patience) with a Paddle board.
