So I did it again, almost finished writing and then lost everything, I thought this stuff was supposed to be idiot proof! Never come across one like me I guess, haha! Shall try again!
After a slow start to the morning and a load of laundry, my early work out, I passed a serious spice test, breakfast with Javar, noodles Lahu style, which means excessive chillies! Did it burn, yes, sweating, yes, profusely, eyes watering nose running, yes, pain, No! Once again I do not understand, not long ago I would have been crying tears of pain!
Not complaining mind, it is great to be eating spicy again!
Despite the heat and late start, did into some good work today, changing old habits and developing new, covering over our recently planted turmeric plots with leaves and grass cuttings And then really got stuck into hard digging on the cellar, devised a small sled for hauling dirt, and we are constructing a land fill site behind the kitchen, expanding and leveling the dog kitchen.
Who needs exercise when you can dig holes in the hill side and haul earth on sleds, farmer walk buckets of earth, and carry sacks of earth on your shoulders! Hahaha!
I did actually, got in a full routine of deadlifts and side press, with a few different lifts added in, like the "single d/bell curl squat" the "half bench d/bell press" and "d/bell bear crawls".
For more of these slightly tweaked, slightly unusual lifts check out "Nick Nilsson, the Mad Scientist of Muscle". He has some brilliant tweaks to your usual exercises, excellent tips for improving form and results. I have used muscle tension techniques for several years now, as I had learned from books by Pavel, as a good, quick, effective way to warm up and then Nick came up with a slightly different version, squat tension, it is excellent, feels good, easy and quick to do and very effective.
And after the weights session it was up the hill to run the dogs, took a slightly shorter but more difficult route on a not well used downside cambered trail, picking up a few more scratches and scrapes on my shins and arms. But the dogs were happy, they like taking different routes and the thicker the jungle the better. They were full of energy today almost taking me out on several occassions as they barrel down the slopes at break neck speed. They do miss the bends in the trails sometimes tumbling head over heels then looking like nothing happened! Always gets a good laugh!
