Is it fair to attempt to capture within the crevices of ignored and broken columns the reflection of an entire city- a vast, bustling one? If not, then how do you explain those moments when you look at some tiny detail somewhere and sigh as the words "oh, Delhi" escape your mouth?

Weekday evenings in Delhi hit you like a pleasant surprise sometimes, especially when you visit one of the more "touristy" places. Having shed themselves of their customary hospitality, they become spaces for those who seek openness, even in the tiniest of alleyways- or rather, some kind of opening up of newer ways to look at the city, or to become a part of it more closely.

Of all the simple delights that Triveni Terrace Café has to offer to us, we found Beetroot Halwa the last time we were there, and oh, how much we loved this unique combination of healthiness and ghee they put in front of us!

What's your Triveni favorite?

While the Yamuna River flows above its danger levels often during the monsoons, it also does something that we rarely witness in the city- it flows, like every river should, instead of gathering endless amounts of chemicals and appearing to be a city-wide still drain. How strange, that it is only once you're outside the city that you realise how the natural flow of the river is restricted by the space the city allows it to be, or all the space the city needs to murder it.

Video taken only a few kilometers from the city, from the newly inaugurated Eastern Peripheral Highway.

During the peak of the monsoon, Delhi skies begin to enter the time of the year where they start drawing stories mapped in the shadows they throw over the city. With each day having layers and plots and twists and turns and characters of its own, you could sit down and wonder at the sky for hours on end.

It feels like the same spaces in Delhi hold to them an infinity of possible ways of being looked at. They seem to carry with them the infinities of ways they have been looked at like inscribed history, bringing to you photographs put on double exposure millions of times, or millions of melodies playing all at once.

For the love of the part of the evening where everything in the city seems to be running in slow motion- even those who have just started with their days, their night jobs, and the orange of the street lights becomes a part of the city's twilight sky.

Can you think of a better food hub than Hudson Lane to drive away your Monday blues with affordable, delicious desi café options? This Monday, we suggest that you try out the recently opened Epic Kitchen and Bar. With a good range of campus food on their menu, and a number of rare finds in the area, the spot might just be your new favorite! We loved their cheesy chicken rolls, which were basically done spring-roll style, and served with a mildly spicy cheese dip- the perfect finger food! And of course, we're all hearts to a place that does its honey chilli potatoes well- and here, they were served piping hot, super crispy and just bang-on flavourful!

We also loved their vegetarian tandoori platter, which had soya chaap, paneer and broccolis, all cooked in delicious sauces and masalas. While they could up the flavour when it comes to shakes, their paan shake is a must try- thick, and full of flavour! Oh, and they also have live music on weekends. So here's to another gem in North Campus!

Scorching heat might be the only determining factor for deciding all you do the entire day these days but when you've got a city like this with so many surprises to unfold, we'd say you get an umbrella and venture out!

And of course, who can stop the untroubled crowds from visiting the initially befuddling, and then the serene, soothing Lotus Temple?

Delhi remains the city of unnamed monuments and graves than it is that of the named ones- most of them scattered around the ticketed ones, made part of their complex boundaries. If only there was some documentation, some idea we had about the leftovers of centuries old, of what they meant...

Going around Delhi's monuments in the simmering June heat is a different kind of pleasure we've learned to take on over time. With absolutely no crowds, it's as if the building has been taken back to where it belongs, back to when it wasn't a ticketed sight, but just the building in itself, carrying the significance it did at the time.

Do you ever wonder how long it'll be till the street vendor disappears from Delhi? How many years, decades- and everything moves to the malls? What a horror to imagine, isn't it, with all the haggling possibilities, all the ways the crowd moves between the streets?

Do you ever end up blaming Delhi for the fact that you're always emotionally jumbled up? :P Such a strange city, or rather, such an estranging city; it's always making you feel alien to what it made you feel like just a couple of seconds ago, with all its rapidly shifting spaces and feelings and people and lack and immensity of love.
