New post written by one of our directors! It was lovely to have a chat with Mr Hugo Carillo about the new San Lazaro community museum in Orange Walk!

Considering the current COVID-19 situation in the district, we hope that you are all healthy and well!

Enjoy this short post until we can visit! 😊

New Blog post on our website! Our volunteer Ella Békési interviewed the director of the San Lazaro community museum in Belize, which after fighting some challenges turned out to be quite successful. And despite Covid - it's standing strong, just like the community it is apart of. https://www.archinternational.org/2020/07/17/a-small-village-community-museum-in-northern-belize-that-is-defying-all-odds/ Heritage Education Network Community Craboo Creative Travel

Be a ! 💚🍃
Sustainability means protecting nature and creating a lifestyle that allows people to preserve their cultures and connections with the environment around them and share it with future generations.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So how can you make sure that you are a ? How can you support cultural and ecological sustainability?

🌴 You can find NGOs that are helping sustainable tourism and work with local communities.
🍃 Reach out to people. Try to find small local businesses and remote locations.
💚 Be loving and respectful of people and the environment.

You may not see it but I am actually between two Maya buildings... 😱 Archaeological parks recently re-opened in Belize and they are perfect to practise social distancing. Smaller reserves don't attract crowds and you get to wander around by yourself. 💃🏻

Our Story

Our goal is to connect visitors with unique cultural experiences by designing authentic and ethically responsible trips and itineraries. We make your travel planning quick and easy and help you discover new places while also contributing positively to local economies.

Craboo Creative was created by Ella Békési to help small travel businesses and entrepreneurs benefit from their own culture and heritage. She is an Archaeologist and a Cultural Heritage professional, who worked and lived in Belize since 2014.

We understand the growing concern to care about cultural and natural impact while travelling. Going off the beaten path and meeting new people often create the most memorable travel experiences, but many travel agencies show a filtered version of a country. We want to provide authentic experiences and tell real stories. Craboo Creative Travel is a collaboration between archaeologists, local highly skilled tour operators, artists, artisans and NGOs. Together, we want to take you on adventures that provide economic support for local businesses and foster cultural or natural heritage preservation.

If you want up-to-date information on our next adventures, sign up to our email list here.
