✨ 22 Days of Tarot Tidbits

✨ Day 17: The Tower

✨ Did you know The Tower tarot card draws a powerful parallel to the biblical tale of the Tower of Babel?

✨ In the story, people tried to build a tower to reach the heavens, attempting to bridge the gap between humanity and the divine. However, their arrogance led to a divine intervention that scattered them, making them speak different languages and disrupting their unity.
The Tower card similarly reminds us that sometimes, our lofty ambitions and pride can lead to our own undoing. It signifies the need to tear down false structures we've built in our lives to rebuild on a more solid foundation.

🌟 Tarot Tidbits - Day 16: The Devil 15 🌟

✨ The Devil card in tarot is a powerful and enigmatic symbol. One of its most intriguing features is the symbol of Saturn that appears on his hand.

✨ Saturn is often associated with restrictions, limitations, and the material world. It represents the structures and boundaries that govern our lives, both physically and metaphorically. When it appears on the hand of the Devil, it serves as a reminder of the entrapments we sometimes find ourselves in.

🌟 Tarot Tidbits - Day 15: Temperance 🌟

✨ In the world of tarot, the Temperance card is often associated with balance, harmony, and moderation. However, in Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot deck, this card takes on a unique identity - it's called "Art." This choice of name holds profound symbolic significance.

✨ In Crowley's deck, "Art" represents the alchemical process of transformation and fusion. It combines seemingly opposing elements, just as an alchemist blends different substances to create something new and valuable. This card reminds us that life is a constant dance of harmonizing opposing forces, like fire and water, to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

✨ By naming this card "Art," Crowley underscores the creative aspect of finding balance and harmony in our lives. It's a reminder that the act of creating balance is an art form in itself, requiring skill, intuition, and patience.

🌟 Tarot Tidbits - Day 14: The Nameless Death Card 🌟

✨Did you know that in the early days of tarot, the Death card had no name? This omission of a name carries deep symbolism.

✨The namelessness of the Death card reflects the universal nature of transformation and change. In many cultures, death is seen as a transition rather than an end, and this card embodies that concept. Without a name, it speaks to the idea that transformation is a fundamental and nameless part of life itself.

🌟 Tarot Tidbits - Day 13: Justice 🌟

✨The concept of suspension in the Tarot, where a figure is suspended upside down by one leg, draws inspiration from ancient yoga practices, particularly the "Shirshasana" or headstand pose.
In yoga, the headstand is considered an advanced pose associated with spiritual awakening and a shift in perspective. It symbolizes the ability to see the world from a different angle and gain insights beyond the physical.

🌟 Tarot Tidbits - Day 12: Justice 🌟

✨In Greek mythology, the legendary hunter Orion faced a unique challenge. To regain his sight, he was instructed to walk eastward and meet the rising sun while carrying someone on his shoulders. He did so, but as he reached the east, he became blinded by the sun's rays. To restore his vision, Orion sought the help of Helios, the sun god.

This myth subtly mirrors the symbolism of the scales in the Justice card, representing the delicate balance between different forces and choices in life. Just as Orion balanced the sun's burden, we too must weigh our decisions with care and foresight.

✨Tarot Tidbits - Day 11: The Wheel of Fortune

✨ The Celts, who inhabited ancient Britain, had a deep reverence for circular motifs. The Celtic wheel, often depicted with spokes or as a simple circle, symbolized the cyclical nature of life, the seasons, and the eternal journey of the soul.

✨ The famous stone circles like Stonehenge are powerful examples of wheel symbolism in ancient Britain. These massive stone structures were thought to align with astronomical events, underscoring the importance of celestial cycles in Celtic and British spirituality.

✨ In medieval Britain, the wheel was a symbol of fortune, similar to the concept of the Wheel of Fortune in Tarot. It represented the ever-turning cycles of life, where one's destiny could change in an instant.

✨ Spinning wheels were vital tools for producing textiles in ancient Britain. They symbolized craftsmanship, industry, and the creation of one's own destiny through hard work.
The Wheel of Fortune card draws from these historical and cultural connotations, reminding us of the ever-changing nature of life's twists and turns.

☀️The Sphinxes in Tarot:

🦋22 Day countdown to your free Tarot class!🦋

✨For the next 22 days i’m going to be sharing an interesting & often lesser know fact about each of the 22 Major Arcana cards✨

DAY 1: THE FOOL 0

The Fool is one of the most iconic and mysterious cards in the Tarot deck. Paradoxically, it’s part of the 22 Major yet it’s seperate & stands alone. A visual key to this, is the cards given number “0”, an Arabic numeral. This differs the other Major Arcana cards 1-21 (I-XXI), which are Roman numerals. Historically, it was often known as the "Jester" card. Its origins can be traced back to the 15th century in Italy, where it was part of the Tarot's early development. Initially, The Fool was depicted as a vagabond, a figure who didn't fit into societal norms.

☀️Stay tuned for the countdown to continue, one card at a time. The journey has only just begun!

🌙In the heart of mid-20th century Sydney, a fearless and enigmatic figure emerged, pushing the boundaries of conventionality and embracing the mystical realm. Rosaleen Norton, often dubbed the "Witch of Kings Cross," left an indelible mark on the world of occult practices, individualism, and standing up for one's unique beliefs.

🌙 Norton’s exploration of the occult was a testament to her daring spirit and unwavering commitment to chart her own path. Amidst a society steeped in tradition and conformity, Norton delved into esoteric realms, drawing inspiration from various sources, including astrology, mythology, and ceremonial magic. Her paintings and writings depicted these mystical visions, giving outsiders a glimpse into her complex inner world.

🌙Norton challenged the prevailing norms of her era, openly embracing her individuality and sexuality at a time when such expressions were often suppressed. Her unique clothing, bold lifestyle choices, and unabashed embrace of her beliefs set her apart from the conformist society around her. Norton's defiance of societal norms serves as a powerful reminder that standing up for one's beliefs, no matter how unconventional, can pave the way for progress and change.

🌙 Choosing to live on the fringes of society was not an easy path, but Norton did so with grace and determination. She faced ridicule, judgment, and even legal battles due to her occult practices and artwork, which often depicted sexual and mystical themes. Despite the challenges, Norton remained resolute, using her art and writings as a means to express her innermost thoughts and communicate with the divine.
🌙 Norton's legacy resonates with those who dare to be different and challenge the status quo. Her journey reminds us that unconventional beliefs and practices can be a source of empowerment and transformation. Norton's courage to embrace her individuality, celebrate her spirituality, and navigate the complexities of an often-hostile world inspires us to honor our own unique paths, no matter how unconventional they may be.

🌙 As the cosmic cycle reaches its final phases, we find ourselves under the captivating influence of the Last Quarter Moon in the steadfast sign of Ta**us.

🌙 The Last Quarter of the moon carries the archetype of the warrior, urging us to reflect, conquer challenges, and persevere with unwavering determination.

🌙 The constellation of Ta**us reigns as a symbol of strength and endurance. One of the tales associated with Ta**us harks back to the story of Europa and the majestic white bull. This divine creature, born of the sea god Poseidon, carried Europa across the waters to safety and serenity. The tale mirrors the qualities of resilience and steadfastness that the warrior archetype embodies.

🌙 As we gaze upon the Ta**us constellation, we're reminded of the power of the present moment and the strength that resides within us. It encourages us to stand firm, harness our inner courage, and overcome any obstacles that may come our way.

🌙 The Moon is also conjunct Jupiter. This cosmic alliance encourages us to dream big, embrace opportunities for growth, and find joy in the simple luxuries that surround us, while grounding our aspirations in the fertile soil of practicality and determination.

🦋THE BUTTERFLY🦋

🦋 Metamorphosis; just as a caterpillar undergoes a miraculous transformation into a butterfly, many cultures view butterflies as symbols of rebirth and renewal. Their journey from crawling creature to graceful flier represents the cycle of life, death, and resurrection. Often linked with the 13th Tarot card Death, they remind us that even though we meet many ephemeral moments in life, we can still appreciate their beauty for the time they were present.

🦋 In ancient Greece, butterflies were associated with Psyche, the goddess of the soul. The word "psyche" also translates to "butterfly" in Greek. This connection underscores the transformative journey of the soul.
