I write this post with deeply mixed emotions. Just returned from my first visit to Bayou Dularge, post-Hurricane Ida, and I am sick over the losses of so much by so many. Ida did not discriminate between new, old, large, or small structures. In my 43 years of south Louisiana living, it is the worst damage I’ve seen.

So, with that in mind, I am posting these pics for those of you who have been calling and texting for the past two days asking the condition of the camp; many of whom have enjoyed staying there for fishing, pleasure, or work. We are so grateful for all of our customers over the past 12 years, and may Camp Dularge be your home away from home again in the near future.

It looked like a water spout passed through two tiny missing panes of glass in the living room. How THIS much destruction passed through those small holes is beyond my understanding of storms. It flipped the TV upside down and onto the floor. Ripped out most of the ceiling tiles. Pulled all the artwork off the walls, broke glass frames, and rain soaked most everything. Pretty much the same in the front bedroom. Lower panes of glass in both windows were blown out and the beds were soaked. I guess that’s what 150 MPH sustained winds will do.

BUT we are ever so grateful that the roof is still attached, and all the other damages, including the camp boat flipped over and missing siding and shingles, are things we can deal with.

Please continue praying for our community as we assess damages and clean up properties. Camp sustained some siding and r...
