I understand there are people offering transportation services cheaper than I am - and who doesn’t like cheap?? Especially in today’s world where everything costs so much!
I I am always looking for a bargain! I call it being frugal with my finances - not being cheap. 😉
However, when it comes to certain things you need to understand the reasoning behind the cost — and the potential risks going for cheaper present.
This being said — with my line of business proper insurance is necessary to ensure my clients and self are protected in the event of an accident.
An accident is just that - never intentional and no one ever plans on having one — but they happen.
If your driver is not properly insured to transport passengers - their insurance company can and most likely will deny any claims - which is extremely important to understand.
Florida also has one of the top 3 highest car insurance premiums in our country because of accidents, under insured and uninsured drivers, and hurricane loss.
I pay over $1200.00 per month (over $14k annually) to have the proper business insurance and I have tried keeping my rates (what I believe to be) reasonable.
If a person who furnishes a business card is offering rides from SRQ for $30 or TPA for $50 - I would be willing to bet they do not have the necessary coverage.
SRQ, for example, 30 minutes to get there. At least 30 minutes or more wait between deboarding, luggage, and loading… 35-45 minutes to get to the island (not talking about in season).
You’re looking at around 1.5 hours total time.
Take this time and add mileage (30-45 avg round trip for your driver) which leads to fuel and fuel cost. More miles more maintenance.
$30 dollars turns into max $20/hour less gas (~ $7.35) which comes to about $12.65/hour.
With respect to this example - your cheaper driver would need to have 100 trips to/from SRQ monthly just to pay for insurance.
UBER & LYFT insure their drivers for $1 million while the ride takes place.
They can offer lower rates because they are huge corporations with fleet premiums — they also take about 30% - 60% of your fare from their drivers to curb costs.
Please take this into consideration before scheduling. ❤️❤️
I’m by no means the best - but I try to go above and beyond for my clients because you matter to me (and I like being a decent human being 🥰).
Kindness breeds kindness 🤗
Have a blessed day! 🏝️🌺
