Although the ideal of living life to the fullest is part of their familial DNA, their parents also encouraged the two young men to be open-minded, learn about themselves and others, stay physically and mentally active and share this positive philosophy with the world. It was not initially evident to the Jones brothers that this mode of “being” would result in a sustainable business model. Yet, her
e it is! Introducing “Smash-Life”. While the idea of this robust approach to life has been part of their lives as far back as anyone can remember, the introduction of the word “SMASH” that reflects its powerful energy occurred in 2010. During one of the Jones’ family vacations, a large group of friends and family went wakesurfing. When Chris, co-founder of Smash-Life, was ready on his board, he inexplicably shouted “Smash” instead of “Hit It”. That summer, “Smash” became the cool word for “congratulations”, “hello”, “amazing” and more. The word gained so much traction and notoriety that the Jones brothers, their cousin Brian McClaren and their group of friends were referred to as “The Smashers” and the time spent at the summer cottage was unofficially dubbed “Smash Camp”. The foundation of the actual business emerged as the two Jones brothers drove cross-country after that first “Smashing” summer. The more they discussed it, the more aspects of their life became inherently “Smashable”. Together, they realized that the attitude that “Smash” exuded could resonate with everything from homework, to charitable acts, to sports and beyond. Could “Smash” provide the basis for a social and business platform that embraced everyone living according to some basic principles? It did and it does. The concept discussion was further broadened when Zak and Chris invited their cousin Brian to join the “Smash-Life” journey with them. Brian was a natural addition to the team since he was one of the early adaptors of “Smash” during that future-altering summer and experienced its positive impact firsthand. Now, “Smash-Life” has become a reality. It’s a new clothing and lifestyle company. It’s also a charitable foundation. And part of the mission of “Smash-Life” is an abiding desire to share what is learned and earned in the course of business and being. You are invited to join the “Smash-Life” family and movement. Only one question remains. “How Far Will You Take It?”
