Oh My Gordon! I think that really sums up the entire first episode of MasterChef Australia Back To Win. I am seriously overwhelmed at the moment, it was epic. I laughed so hard at the funny one liners, teared up with Ben and Jess, felt the same as Hayden questioning why I was there, felt pain when Poh forgot to make her chilli sauce and also felt a shiver of pride when Andy walked in the kitchen as if he was my second son! (HAHA).

It was a pinch me moment when the judges and Gordon loved my Taste of Sri Lanka so much. Sri Lanka is a special place to me, I experienced and learnt so much there, it really is an incredible cuisine and I thank all the Sri Lankan people I have met over the years who have shared their knowledge and love of spice with me! When all this is over, please go and visit Sri Lanka, eat the food, experience the incredible warmth of the people there, it is a stunning country and I can not wait to return one day.

The islands public train service can access you to any part of the island, it is how so ever a mediocre mode of travel. For the mere price of 5$ you can board a train to the hill country which will provide you with the most basic facilities witch will entitle you to basic seats, no air conditioning, toilets, and a small cafeteria with local delights and water. Although the ride entails such mere facilities the public train experience will allow the traveller to experience the island in all its nakedness. With sights sounds and smell surrounding you its is an experience made for the adventurous.

The Viceroy Special a vintage steam train and the only one currently in operation in Sri Lanka, offers a more luxury travel experience. Complete with period fittings, a bar and smoking area, dining and recreation area, plush seating with an observation cabin, on board music and Wi-Fi, and four course menus, The Viceroy offers an experience like no other.

The train is run on a charter basis and runs to any destination in the island. The hill country ride in Sri Lanka, which is considered to be one of the most picturesque train journeys in the world, will be a journey best experienced on the Viceroy Special.

Yala National Park / යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානය / யால தேசிய வனம்

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka.

යාල ජාතික උද්‍යානය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පිහිටි දෙවන විශාලතම ජාතික උද්‍යානයයි.

The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area.

It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938.

The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

එය ර‍ෙට් ගිනිකොන වියලි කලාපයේ පිහිටා ඇත. උද්‍යානය කොළඹ සිට එනම් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අග නගරයේ සිට කිලෝමීටර 300 පමණ දුරින් පිහිටා ඇත. යාල ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඌව සහ දකුණු නම් වූ පළාත් දෙකකට අයත් වේ. උද්‍යානය කොටස් පහකට බෙදා ඇති අතර 1 සහ 2 වන කොටස් පමණක් අමුත්තන් සඳහා විවෘතව ඇත.

යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නිරිත දිගට වන්නට විශාල භූමි ප‍්‍රමාණයක පැතිර ඇති ප‍්‍රධානම ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයකි.ඌව හා දකුණු පළාත් දෙකටම අයත් වන මෙම රක්‍ෂිතය වර්ග ප‍්‍රමාණයෙන් වර්ග කිලෝමීටර 979 ක් වුවද මහජනයාට විවෘතව ඇත්තේ වර්ග කිලෝමීටර 141 ක භූමි භාගයකි.

රක්‍ෂිතයෙන් වැඩිප‍්‍රමාණයක් පතන් බිම් වශයෙන් පවතිනමුත් මෙය වනභූමි වෙරලාශ‍්‍රිත ප‍්‍රදේශ, දිය උල්පත්, ගංඟා සහ ලඳු බිම් වලින් ආදි විවිධ පරිසර තත්ත්වයන්ගෙන් ගහණ වූ වනෝද්‍යානයකි. මෙම ලඳු බිම් තැන තැන විසිර පවතින පාෂාණමය ශේෂ කඳු වලින් ගහණය. වනෝද්‍යානය විශාල සත්ව විශේෂ ප‍්‍රමාණයකට වාස භූමිය සපයයි.

යාල රක්‍ෂිතය ලෝකයේ විශාලතම දිවි ගහණයෙන් සමන්විතය. එසේ වුවත් රාති‍්‍රයේ හැසිරෙන විශාල ප‍්‍රමාණයේ මාංශභක්ශක සතුන්ට තම ගොදුරු සොයා ගැනීමට දැඩි වෙහෙසක් දැරීමට සිදු වී ඇති අතර ගොදුරක් ලැබීම බොහෝ විට වාසනාව මත රඳා පවතී. මෙහි වෙසෙන විශාල ප‍්‍රමාණයේ සත්වයින් අතර ආසියානු අලි, කිඹුලන්, වල් ඌරන්, කුළු හරකුන් සහ අළු රිලවුන් සිටිති.තවද මල් කොහා, ලංකා වලි කුකුලා සහ ඉන්දියානු මොණරා මෙම වනෝද්‍යානයේ බහුලව ගැවසෙති.පතන් බිම් වලට ගිජු ලිහිණියන්, ගෙල සුදු මුහුදු ලිහිණියන් ආකර්ශනය වන අතර අලිමානාවන් සහ ලතුවැකියන් තෙත් බිම් කරා ඇදී එයි.

யால தேசிய வனம் இலங்கையிலுள்ள தேசிய வனங்களுள் ஒன்றாகும்.மிகுந்த சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகள் செல்லும், பரப்பளவில் இரண்டாவது பெரிய தேசிய வனம் இதுவே ஆகும் ஆகும்.

ஐந்து பிரிவுகளைக் கொண்ட இத்தேசிய வனத்தில் இரண்டு பிரிவுகளே பொதுமக்கள் பார்வைக்காகத் திறந்து விடப்பட்டுள்ளன. இக்காட்டினை அண்டியதாக வேறு சில காடுகளும் காணப்படுகின்றன. யால தேசிய வனத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு பிரிவுக்கும் தனித்தனிப் பெயர்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன. அதன் முதலாவது பிரிவு உறுகுண தேசிய வனம் எனப்படுகிறது. அதனுடன் சேர்ந்தாற் போல இருக்கும் காடு குமண தேசிய வனம் அல்லது யால கிழக்கு வனம் ஆகும்.

யால தேசிய வனம் இலங்கையின் தென்கிழக்குப் பகுதியில், அதாவது தெற்கு மற்றும் ஊவா மாகாணங்களில் இருக்கிறது. இலங்கையின் தலைநகரான கொழும்பிலிருந்து 300 கிலோமீட்டர் (190 மைல்) தொலைவில் காணப்படும் இக்காடு மொத்தமாக 979 சதுர கி.மீ (378 சதுர மைல்) பரப்பளவைக் கொண்டது.
