Peter Island Resort is (Almost) Back!!

For the past 6 years, Peter Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands has been shuttered due to the devastation left by Hurricane Irma. But, as of October, 2024 - Peter Island Resort is back! And dare we say, better than before.

The property’s owner, billionaire Van Abdel family, has patiently and very expensively rebuilt the resort to preserve the very best of Peter Island while improving the resort’s design. When it reopens in October, expect to find all of its 52 rooms and suites now beachfront. Plus, there are 2 larger villas for families needing 3 or 6-bedroom configurations. The 1,800 acre island, however, still offers its guests a choice of not 1 but 5 white powder sand beaches and some of the most gorgeous ocean water you will ever swim in. The new Yacht Club has its own pool and sports courts (including basketball, pickleball & bocce ball) to help your children get their energy out. And while they do, may we suggest that you head over to the new 10,000 square foot oceanfront spa.

Peter Island Resort is the perfect place to slow down & disconnect from the world, all while reconnecting with your loved ones. It is barefoot luxury at its best & we can’t wait to check it out! The British Virgin Islands are hands-down one of the best destinations for a beach getaway and Rosewood’s Little Dix Bay is one of my favorites. It is the perfect combination of luxury, seclusion and laid-back beach vibes on an island that is mostly untamed & undeveloped. 🏝️

🐚For more than 60 years, has sat in its perfect slice of the world on a gorgeous half-mile crescent beach where gentle blue waters meet the shoreline. Each of its suites & villas have a distinct decor - I am partial to their villas. They are perfect for families or groups as they have stunning views, privacy & fantastic plunge pools.

🌊 But no trip to Virgin Gorda - or anywhere in the BVIs - would be complete without a private boat day. Island hopping ( is fantastic) and a stop at the Baths & the Soggy Dollar Bar are musts.

A quiet, idyllic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Ischia is a volcanic island located 19 miles from Naples. Its rustic charm & sense of calm can be felt immediately. Think unspoiled beaches, family-owned boutique hotels, thermal springs, an ancient castle and centuries-old architecture. Ischia is a true authentic Italian experience that has me dreaming of lazy days spent basking in the Italian sun. Plus, if you must, you can easily check out Capri on a boat day 😉

This beautiful resort is where I got the key from my Story yesterday (see the last slide if you missed it). This is THE place for anyone looking to step away from it all and unwind & reconnect in the most beautiful natural beach setting (without schlepping to the Maldives or the French Polynesia). Welcome to Sailrock Resort, the 2024 Small Luxury Hotel Resort of the Year - for good reason.

Sailrock is located on South Caicos, a short 20-minute flight from Providenciales, the main airport in Turks & Caicos. From the second you walk into the Great House, you know you’re somewhere special. With views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side & the Caicos Bank on the other, it’s hard to go wrong.

While they have suites, Sailrock’s beachfront villas are the way to go. We stayed in a gorgeous 3-bedroom villa with heated pool, outdoor showers, all just steps from the Atlantic Ocean. In just a few minutes time, we could walk (or golf cart) to the main beach where you find kayaks, paddle boards, Hobie cats and other water fun. Despite how secluded the resort is - we never left during our week there - our 3 teenage boys were never bored. The highlight was a guided kayak tour with Ben, a super fun local. Close second were Jerome’s 🍹 - extra virgin for the young ones, of course. 🤣

Pay attention to the pic with the beach umbrellas. That is the main beach, at around 11:30am - when the resort was at full capacity. 😳
