Time for a weekend getaway to the cool Arizona White Mountains! We are in Stage 2 fire restrictions which means no campfires except in designated areas, no smoking except in enclosed vehicles or within designated areas, no fireworks, no explosive targets, no chainsaws, no welding and no tracer round ammunition. Please be extra careful, attentive, and safe out there as it is extremely dry in the forests.

• Lavender Bloom and Wine Event
Thursday, June 27th through Saturday, June 29th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at Red Rock Lavender Farm; House 38 CR 5309, Concho, AZ. Free event! Cut your own bouquet of lavender. We're trying something new for better fishing in the High Country! Waters in the Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside areas will be stocked with catchable-size trout from March to July, a change from the traditional stocking schedule of April to September. From 2020-2023, stockings had to be suspended in late summer when lake temps got too hot and pH levels were too high to safely stock fish, so our fish biologists will complete stockings by July 4th this year. More fish, healthier fish, better fishing - sounds like a change we can get behind! 🎣 Get all the details at

• Show Low Shines for the Holiday Season.
Enjoy an extravaganza of holiday lights and decorations that light up the City of Show Low through January 2nd. Light displays in Downtown Show Low along the Deuce of Clubs, at Festival Marketplace, at Show Low City Hall, at the Show Low Library and at Show Low City Park (synchronized to holiday music).

• Santa’s Elf Search
Santa’s elves have snuck away for winter vacay! The elves are reported to be on their way to the walking trail at Show Low City Park! The elves will arrive on December 8 and stay until the 15th! List the activity that each elf is doing & submit entries to [email protected] or drop off at Show Low Family Aquatic Center. Entries can also be mailed to 1100 W. Deuce of Clubs Show Low, AZ 85901. All complete entries will be entered to win a Wham-O Hot Dog Snowboogie, Wham-O Double Snow Tube, Snowball & Brick Maker Kit & 10 pack of Hand/Body Super Warmers! Night skiing at Sunrise Peak December 26-31 from 4:30 – 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve fireworks show immediately following night skiing on Sunday, December 31st. The Day Lodge and Crown Dancer Café will be open through the fireworks show for guests to stay warm and grab a bite or drink. Come celebrate the fall solstice in the Arizona White Mountains! Here’s what’s happening this weekend:

• 39th Annual Run to the Pines Car Show
September 22-24. Pinetop Lakes Country Club. Begins on Friday, September 22 with the Cavalcade of Cars Roads Tour. The cavalcade will depart from the parking lot of the LDS church on the corner of Deuce of Clubs and Clark Rd. in Show Low at 4 p.m. and proceed east on the Deuce of Clubs and then south on SR 260 through Pinetop-Lakeside to the Hon-Dah Resort Casino. The car show will be at Pinetop Lakes Country Club and features 575 pre-’73 vehicles. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Free attendance. • Annual Fall Festival Parade
