Management is Conservation
After my mom shot her ram. Jacob wanted us to come over to the other ranch to hang out and visit. Well my father asked Jacob if he had a management buck for myself to shoot.
Well we arrived at .hunting ranch at 3:30pm, at 5:00pm we got into the high rack in the truck and started driving around the ranch. At 5:45pm we spotted this old buck. Jacob told me his at least 7 years old. So I took the shot and made a perfect shot. Buck died in seconds and he was mine.
Yes, he's not no 200 inch buck or he's just a 2 point. But that buck is past his prime and this buck needed out of the gene pool. His hoofs were starting to hollow out and curving back into each other.
At the end of the day, everyone wins. I shoot my first desert mule deer, plus helping the herd and gene pool at the ranch.

'23 Montana Public Land General Deer
Nov 9th
When your buddies missed at 430 yards then he steps out at 465 yards and he tells you he can't see him. So you take the shot and smoke him ( 3 times ). Couldn't be happier with this buck plus we killed him on the first day of the hunt.

My mom filled her dreams of shooting a bull and she couldn't be happier. Plus this is her first bull ever. A big thank you to , fantastic people, 5 star accommodations and 10 star service. We will definitely be back!

Saturday was fantastic. I got one of my bosses from work, to come out to try and kill his first gobbler. Well he doubled up on Saturday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Overall a great weekend of chasing turkey.

Plus, this is my dad's first ever turkey. His watch me kill a lot of turkey and I finally said enough is enough and let him have first crack at shooting a turkey for himself.

Still in shock. But spotted this buck about 2 miles out. As he was working a dry creek bed, he was out cruising for doe's. We made a move to get down towards where he was heading. We slipped down in a coolie and just looked back behind us and he was on a trot at 200 and coming. I got down on the gun and took a shot as he was trotting. Got a solid hit on him as he went behind the hill. Ran up and he was standing at 80 yards. Put another shot into him and put him down in his track. This is my BIGGEST mule deer buck ever!
One tag down, one to go you are up brother!

Finally got a weather switch and shot this buck at 75 yards in a blizzard. Now it's time to go home, work a few days and then head to Wyoming to chase big bucks.

FIRST BULL IN WASHINGTON STATE.

Tod and I first met a couple months ago and he wanted to shoot an elk in Washington State. He drew a multi season elk tag. So we hunted during archery season for a couple days. Got some close encounters with no shots fired. Fast forward to the third day of muzzleloader season and he made a great shot on this bull at 65 yards. Congratulations again Tod on your first Washington state elk and your first muzzleloader kill.
