Do you need some fun, thoughtful gift ideas for any design lovers and/or travelers in your life? ✨

The images above are just a sneak peek of the Cotswolds by Design gift guide I sent out to paid subscribers on Friday… There are 15 more recommendations in the letter—the majority of which are from small businesses, artists, makers ♥️… plus a bunch more in the Joshua Tree and Paris by Design gift guides I sent out in weeks previous. Basically, I’ve spent hours and hours scouring the coziest little corners of the internet so that you don’t have to. 😘

If you want them all, just subscribe now to Letters from Eva (paid version, only $5/mo) and let me know and I’ll happily send them to you! 💌

Oh Provence! 🌻🍇🌞🌿🥐

These are from our visit to the charming in the village of Menerbes in the Luberon Valley in Provence during this fall’s trip. Apparently you can book it and stay here on holiday? 🤯 We had a little tour to see the art, decor, and architecture. Loved it! (Save this post/info for future travels📍)

A gorgeous day in a gorgeous place with gorgeous company. Planning another one for this spring… Who’s coming?

Scenes from my last 24 hours in Paris. ♥️

It’s always bittersweet to go home. Of course I want to go because I miss my family terribly and I CANNOT wait to see them… but I’m also sad to leave my favorite city, to stop speaking French on the daily, to say goodbye to amazing French food, to my local friends, to my lovely travelers…

And I’m still a little sad that our plans for moving here back in 2020 came crashing down and had to be put on indefinite hold for various reasons. It can be hard to see other people decide to move here and just have the ability to make it happen… when it’s something I’ve been dreaming of my entire life and actively trying to make happen for about 10 years or so.

At the same time, I’m happy for them, and seeing others make it happen gives me hope that one day I’ll be able to make it happen, too. I’m at peace with living in Utah for now, and I’m grateful for all of its natural beauty and for all the many people I love. I like it’s all for a reason, even if all those reasons won’t be completely apparent until much later.

Enough rambling. Flights taking off. xo

December / January 🎄❄️ ❤️ 🐈 🥣1) The first snowman of the season.

2) Made a flying saucer (or maybe 's Coeur à la Crème 😉 from her book, Barefoot in Paris.) You're supposed to make it in a heart-shaped mold, so now I'm adding one more thing to my Paris flea market wishlist. 🙈

3) Say hi to Levi, our friendly neighbor kitty.

4) O tannenbaum... (It's still up, thank you very much. Anyone else? 😂)

5) .film showing Lars and a cousin how to use the drone.

6) A beautiful sunny day at Utah Lake.

7) Borsch. When I met Kirk, he had just moved back to the States from Russia, so this dish always reminds me of him and our early days together. 🥰 (Plus, it always hits the spot this time of year. So tasty and nourishing.)

8) A new-to-me record shop, .vintage.groove.

9) Hi!

10) I started a family favorites recipe binder somewhere around a decade ago (or more?). We've loved it, so I decided to make a duplicate to give to a family member for Christmas this year. The kids decorated it. 😍

I was saving the best for last. 😉

Yesterday, I shared photos from Monet’s house to my stories. But you may have noticed that one of the best rooms was missing. The dining room. The famous yellow dining room. 🌻

I was saving it for today to put in an actual grid post because it’s my favorite room in the house. The tone on tone yellow, the blue and white dishes, the Japanese woodcut prints... it’s perfection. Ingrid thinks so, too... That’s why we were inspired to make over her bedroom back in 2017. I think we painted about 2 dozen samples on the wall until we found the right shade—ha!

Since then, her needs have evolved, clutter built up, and before we knew it... it wasn’t such a yellow room anymore. We had lost the vision. Last week she came to me asking if I could help her figure out more storage space. One thing led to another and all of a sudden, we had the whole room turned upside down. I asked her if she wanted to go back to it being more yellow again, more inspired by Monet’s dining room. She didn’t miss a heartbeat. 💛 And we’ve got a fun new-again project to work on. Our tastes might not overlap much, but this is one area where they definitely do.

And how about you? What inspires you about Monet’s home?

10 favorite holiday albums! 🎶🎄🎶 Which one of these do you like best? And what are some other favorites not pictured?

Trying to decide which one to add to the collection next and would love your input. 😘

Also! I’m sharing links to a couple of holiday playlists in stories today, if you’re looking for more to listen to. One is more fun and upbeat, the other is gentler and a little bittersweet.

And for subscribers to Letters from Eva, you got a cozy resource guide for the holiday break in your inbox on Friday. Hope you enjoy! ✨✨✨

The Travel by Design Gift Guide went out this morning to all subscribers to my newsletter, Letters from Eva! 🎁🌲❤️

There are recs for travelers, for art and design lovers, for Francophiles, for babies and little kids, AND for tweens and teens. 12 recs per category, so 60 in total. 60 delightful, thoughtful, original ideas… in a range of prices. Lots of small shops, independent makers, women-owned biz, etc. featured, too. I get such a kick out of putting these together. Hope you enjoy!

And in case anyone can relate, I’ve *barely* started thinking about my own gifting this year 🫣 so now I’ve got a good place to start lol.

Oh, and a heads up! This sort of comprehensive newsletter usually only goes out to paid subscribers, but this time, as a holiday gift, I’m sending it to everyone on the list. 😘

If you’re not signed up yet but you’d like to receive it, sign up through the link in my bio and then DM me to let me know and I’ll forward it to you. 👍

Btw, I was thinking it was maybe too late for a gift guide and that there were too many already out there but I put it to a vote in stories and gift guide it is! (But to those who voted for something else, don’t worry, you’ll get it in next week’s edition of Letters from Eva. ✨)
