WHAT VALUE DOES THE FB FEED HAVE ANYMORE? I scroll rarely, but for starts my friends' posts are only about 25% at best of what I see. The rest are ads, "inquiry" posts by some obscure entity that look personal but really are just BAIT to get you to answer, likely with a goal of data mining (your info). FB has changed so much over the years that there is really nothing personal and connecting about it any more. I believe that we post for 3 reasons (other than marketing). 1) To be seen, 2) to feel connection with others, 3) to impact the world around us (a sense of purpose). Sadly, we are trying to do this within the 4 walls of our house, on a platform that cares more about influencing our actions (and thoughts and feelings) than it does about the human connections we humans so desperately long for. I think the only REAL WAY to "be seen", have (real, authentic) connection, and to impact our world, is to go OUT and BE IN IT, touch, hug, and see other humans, and DO something in the lives of others. We are touching, feeling, beings, that are born of NATURE. We need to be interacting with our PHYSICAL world. IMHO FB is a crutch that really doesn't achieve any of these essential human needs for us. We have to disconnect. Sure a post here and there keeps us in each other's thoughts, but we have to stop convincing ourselves that our needs of belonging, connection, and purpose are actually being met, here.
