Do you know that we offer all kinds of different support when it comes to prepare and plan your next adventure. How about:

*Routeplanning – do you feel confident enough to go on the next skitour or hike by yourself or with friends, but maybe have some questions about the specific area? Or did you plan a route that you would like to have a second opinion about? Or maybe you haven´t planned at all, you just know that you got your mind set upon Sarek and would like us to draw the lines on the map? Either way, you can book a planning session with us for help.

*Support – heading out on your next big adventure but need a little help with the logistics? We can help you shop and/or prepare food, equipment and fuel and meet up with you in the nearest bus or trainstation in Gällivare or Jokkmokk, or aid you in other ways.

*Custom made tours – Although we offer a wide range of adventures both winter and summertime maybe you would like to do something different? As a family or group please let us know what your dreams are and we will take it from there.

*Storage – Send us an email if you don´t want to carry all the gear you brought for the entire trip... We have plenty of storage.

During winterseason we also do some snowmobile support.

Laponia Ski Tour – our little gem of a tour in the arctic spring!

Just before winter is letting go in the mountains, we head out for a skitour between cosy cabins. We focus on enjoying the skiing and practice some techniques. We carry a lighter backpack and enjoy lazy breaks hopefully in the sun. In the evenings, we make a fire and prepare and eat nice food in the huts. And of course, we take in the amazing nature and discover the landscape in the northern part of Laponia world heritage.

Seven days in mountain bliss, the 13-19th of April. Give us a heads up if you want to follow!

What kind of wildlife can you spot here?

That is one of the most commonly asked questions we get, no matter what tour or season it is. Depending on season, weather, temperature the animals around can be either easy or hard to spot. Wintertime is fun cause we can see a lot of traces and it sets the imagination off!

Some of the most common ones around Jokkmokk and Gällivare, both in the forrest and up in the mountains, are moose, reindeers, roe deer (just the forrest), foxes and hare, which you also often see in the traces in the snow. Among the predators we have lynx, wolverine, bear (prefers the woods), wolf (just passing through in search for better territories). A lot of people are very scared of encounters with predators but there is no need. They are even more scared of you, so if you see any of them – consider yourself lucky!

What event once made 80,000 people visit Jokkmokk at the same time?

The wintermarket! Every year from 1605 the market has taken place in the beginning of February. This 420 year old tradition usually draws around 40,000 people to Jokkmokk except during the 400th anniversary when 80,000 people from all around the world came...

So what is fuss about? Well it is just the happening of the year up north! A true Sami winter festival, where people from all around Sapmí, the whole county of Norrbotten and tourists from all over the world meet in the narrow streets of Jokkmokk, often in -20 degrees celsius. It is not only about the market stalls, the famous furs and skinproducts, the traditional food and clothing, but also a chance to experience the true Sami culture. There is exhibitions, lectures and a lot of activities during three very intensive days. And of course, reindeers!

Muddus national park is truly a gem!

A very nice place to visit all year round, but especially during autumn. Mirja and some friends visited last weekend and enjoyed the blissful nature in peace and quiet.

The swans were leaving for winter and this week we got the first snow up here. As nature is, we are also preparing for winter.

Well well well if it isn´t the season for iceskating coming up?!

When the puddles in town are freezing it doesn´t take long before the shallow lakes follow. We have just the gear for you to rent: an ice skating package with skates, boots and ice claws. Add on a long pole and a throwing line if you want to be on the safe side.

You can book your gear on our webpage, in advance, to 4 pm the day before you want to rent it. Pick up and drop off can be in both Jokkmokk and Gällivare. But if you are feeling very spontaneous, you can also call or email later on and we will see what we can do.

This summer we will have two different tours where we stay in cabins:

NEW ROUTE! HIKING THE PADJELANTA TRAIL – The 11-16th of August we will hike through the vast and mesmerizing national park of Padjelanta, a part of the Laponia world heritage. This area never ceises to amaze, with its great open landscape, the Sami culture and endless mountain lakes. We will hike through the northern part of the national park taking in the beautiful mountain scenery. This tour is for our guests who are longing for a nice time in the mountains, sleeping comfortably in beds in huts, but still are prepared for long hiking days with somewhat heavy backpacks, since we carry all the food together.

WEEKENDHIKE IN MUDDUS NATIONAL PARK – The 4-7th and the 25-28th of September we will go into the woods of Muddus national park. Beeing the most quiet place in Sweden, we go for the peace and tranquility in theese old, magical woods. We sleep in cabins heated by firewood, enjoy a scenery of autumncolours and waterfalls and cook together during the evenings. This tour is suitable for our beginner guests, or to anyone in search for a break from everydaylife.

This is what we offer to you next summer:

NEWS! A TASTE OF SAREK – for the novice who longs for longer adventures. A mix of hiking on trails and off-trail in rugged terrain, this tour suits the beginner. We also take the time to go through some basic knowledge, tips and tricks on how to make it in the mountains. How to set up camp, navigation and so on.

TREKKING IN SAREK – A week-long camping trek in the wildest national park in Sweden. Our most classic tour and route, through Ruothesvagge and the heart of Sarek. Compared to the first one, we are out for a couple of days longer, the backpack gets heavier and our guests on this tour would benefit from having more experience.

NEW ROUTE! LAPONIA EXPLORER 2025 – Hike across Luohttoláhko. Here is our most challenging tour in Sarek national park, where we hike off the beaten track. This is an amazing tour for our most experienced guests, who are longing for a true adventure deep in the least visited parts of the national park. We don´t set the route entirerly, we leave some planning for later, depending on the weather, conditions and to be decided toghether with our guests.

Mirja has also been on some vacation!

It was a beautiful autumn weekend in Saltoluokta and Stora Sjöfallets nationalpark. Lets call it smaller adventures with the family! One day visiting Naturum (a fantastic museum/information about the nature and culture in Laponia world heritage) finishing off with some candy at the lake. The other day some time on the mountain along the Kingstrail (Kungsleden) just south of Saltoluokta.

This time of year can be fantastic. There is a small gap, just after the tourist season, and right before the first storms of the autumn.

Season is almost over and this is the time of year we have time for some vacation!

And what do we do? Head into the mountains of course... Here is some pictures from Christian and Silbas hiking tour around the Kebnekaise massif. From Nikkaluokta, up through Vistasvagge, Nallo, Sälka, Kebnekaise and Tarfala before heading home again. The best of the hike according to Christian is some time off the grid, and for Silba all the people she met and got pets from...

Already dreaming about hiking next summer? During september we will open up the booking for our tours summer 2025!

We have no less than three tours in Sarek next summer. This is the longer tours we do, in rugged wild beautiful mountain terrain, sleeping in tents:

We also have two different hut-to-hut tours, sleeping in cosy huts and enjoying the nature in two of the most stunning national parks:

Weekend in Muddus (Höstweekend in Muddus), two dates:

Saltoluokta, and the view over Langas and Lulep Kierkau.

This is a special place for us. Saltoluokta is situated at the famous trail Kungsleden, and just next to the big national parks of Stora Sjöfallet and Sarek. From here we often start or finish our tours, both in summer and winter time, at the STF Saltoluokta mountain station. We, Christian and Mirja, have also worked here and had our trainee time here a long time ago...

So whenever we come by, it is like coming home in a way. Same landscape, unchanged, only the people and seasons that comes and go. We bet you also have that special place in the mountain, that just feels like home?

1st of September. It might still be summer in southern parts of Sweden, but up here in the mountains autumn has been with us for a while. Cold crisp air, the leaves are changing and on the cold nights the mountainpeaks gets covered in snow.

If you are going to the mountains this time of the year, please bring lots of warm clothes, hats and gloves and a really thick sleepingbag – it is much colder than you think. But also breathtakingly beautiful.
