The Büyük Çamlıca Camii, which is reputed to be the largest mosque in the . . . the 's first presidential mosque, inaugurated on 4 May 2019 by the himself. Designed by two female architects, Bahar Mızrak and Hayriye Gül Totu, at a cost of around TL 150 million ($66.5 million). The length of the four mosque minarets span 107.1 metres, a measurement that refers to the Battle of Manzikert (1071) when the Seljuks decisively defeated the so-called Byzantine Empire, marking the beginning of the Turkification of the Anatolian peninsula.

'Haydarpaşa Arkeoloji Kazıları hakkında bilgi veren arkeolog Hüseyin Yıldırı, İkinci Dünya Savaşında, Hitler'in Trakya'ya kadar ilerlemesi sırasında yapılan bir sığınak ve tüneller bulduklarını belirterek, "Selimiye Kışlası'ndan Haydarpaşa Garı'na asker naklinin, hava saldırısına maruz kalmadan yapabilmesi için bu tünel ve sığınaklar yapılıyor. Üst katlar hariç bu giriş bölümünün uzunluğu 370 metre civarında. Üst katlarla birlikte tünellerin kilometrelerce uzunlukta olduğunu biliyoruz" dedi. Haydarpaşa Kazı Alanı'nda yapılan toplantıya katılan arkeolog Hüseyin Yıldırım, kazı bölgesinin, Devlet Demiryollarına ait Haydarpaşa Gar Sahası olarak adlandırıldığını belirtti.'
