We are savoring the memories from our Moorish Spain trip! What an incredible adventure it was - 10 days, exploring Sevilla, Jerez, Cordoba, Malaga, Ronda and Granada. We appreciated the warmth of the Spanish people, the cuisine, history, and the weather. Our hearts and souls are nourished and filled with gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this a memorable trip. Thank you to our travelers, guides, and drivers who shared their knowledge and insights. Thank you Spain, we can’t wait to explore more places next time!🇪🇸🧡🥂

We loved our stay in Malaga. This beautiful Spanish city is located on the Mediterranean on the Costa del Sol. It boasts 300 days of sunshine. Our hotel the H10 Croma Málaga was the perfect place from which to explore. Our comfortable rooms had beautiful balconies to enjoy the gorgeous sunrise or catch the suns last rays of the day!

3 days in Granada is not enough to experience it’s charms! So much fun strolling through the Albaycin and Sacromonte, watching Flamenco, and traversing the Alhambra. Adios for now!🇪🇸💃🏻🥂

When I first dreamed of leading group tours I wanted to combine an authentic experience to interesting places with a give back activity.🧡

I’ve been fortunate to have some exclusive travel experiences that are wonderful and indulgent but have left me feeling a little guilty. I knew I t would feel more meaningful to have authentic experiences with locals not just being waited on by them. I wanted to contribute in some way. And so the idea was born.

Today we completed our giveback activity at the English Cemetery in Malaga. While our work only lasted a few hours it gave me great satisfaction!

Córdoba is an incredible place to visit. We loved the Moorish architecture, Roman influences, and the beautiful surroundings.

The countdown to our Moorish Spain trip is 30 days away! We’ll be visiting Barcelona before the official start of the trip in Seville.🇪🇸

I can’t wait to have a few days to wander and explore beautiful Barcelona at my leisure. Last time was a whirlwind and there are places I wasn’t able to visit during the few short days I was there.

Paella is one of our favorite Spanish foods. It comes in all sizes and manner of ingredients - vegetable, seafood, and meats.

We appreciate the architectural diversity in Spain. During our upcoming Moorish Spain trip we will immerse ourselves in the beautiful architecture, cuisine, and sights of southern Spain.

Many of the Moorish buildings were repurposed after the Reconquista like this Cathedral in Cadiz.

Today is Assumption Day, celebrated around the world in honor of the Virgin Mary's Assumption into heaven. In Spain it is a National Holiday better known as the Day of the Virgen de la Paloma. The feast of the Assumption has been celebrated in Spain since the 18th century. ‌The festivities begin on August 11 and conclude on August 15 with a grand celebration in the streets of Madrid.

We always enjoy reading books about the destinations we will be visiting. During our trip to Granada, we will be exploring The Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens.

Some of our favorite books include:
Tales of the Alhambra by Washington Irving - this is a wonderful tale of stories and lore surrounding The Alhambra, published in 1832
The Crown that Lost its Head by Jane Thornley (set in Granada & Portugal)
Granada and the Alhambra In Focus guidebook in English

Granada is a magical place and we can't wait to help our group experience it to the fullest.

There are an endless amount of intriguing places to see in Spain. We had a challenging job choosing only a few for our 10-day trip. We want to immerse ourselves in the experience of each special place rather than see as many things as possible. Not every place we desired to see fit into our itinerary, which means we will have to visit this beautiful church on another visit.😚

Fountains are a predominant feature in the arid climate of Southern Spain. The soothing sounds and the occasional sprinkles of water provide a cooling effect. We are grateful for their presence.

Valencia is credited with popularizing Paella. Today you will find this delicious rice dish served throughout Spain. Paella comes in all sizes and with an array of ingredients including vegetables only, mixed with meat and shellfish and every combination imaginable.

And indirectly the Moors deserve credit for introducing rice, Saffron, and other spices used in Spanish cuisine. A visit to Spain is not complete without Paella! We suggest pairing it with Sangria.

We love the Mediterranean climate in Southern Spain. Palm trees have a way of transforming the landscape into an exotic backdrop.

One of our favorite tapas that can be found throughout Spain is Tortilla Espanola or Spanish Omelet. It is a delicious frittata-like dish made from potatoes, eggs, and olive oil. Everyone makes it just a little different. We love it when it is included in the breakfast buffet.

In Spain there is a celebration for almost everything. It is one of the things that we enjoy about traveling in Spain. There is even a book festival! Immersing oneself in another culture is so much fun and expansive!

The Spanish take pork very seriously and ham in particular! Serrano ham is a delicacy served on nearly every menu. If you love jamon, you must visit the Museo del Jamon for an array of mouth-watering delicacies.
